You really need to know what you are doing. Elephas is great, and it's easy to use, but you really need knowledge to fully leverage AI content creation it its full extent.

Versatile brain and writing assistent

Commenti: I like experimenting with what Elephas is capable of. It needs some setup to make it work to your expectations and build up your habit to use it with everyday tasks, but it so powerful, that I really like to play with it and see how it could help me to be more productive

Unmatched Mac Native AI Assistant

Elephas fits beautifully into my writing routine! I haven't come across any other app that offers such a great level of Mac integration along with a wide variety of AI tools and features.

The UI is definitely getting better with every update, but it still feels a little lackluster and clunky.

I Speaketh My Truth, or How I Learned to Embrace A New Tool

Commenti: Very good to excellent. I hate using tools that seem to add friction to my day and Elephas merged smoothly with my lack of routine and often scattershot approach to bringing concepts together. Has enough structure to keep me from getting a junk drawer, but not so much that I can't just jump in and jot down ideas and findings quickly. I like it and will keep using it

Ease of use. I have tried several KMS apps, but I am keen on finding tools that adapt well to me rather than have me go through a learning curve. I also work across several fields (business, tech, non-profit development, start-ups, education, health, fiction writing, and a few more) and wanted a system that allowed me to quickly cross-connect without hiding things in folders and sub-folders festooned with tags. I'm not 100% up to speed on Elephas, it doesn't do everything I would want (its coffee-making skills are sorely lacking), but it has become a daily tool within a week of trying it. That's a win and I look forward to doing more with it

It needs some templates for creative work, but I don't know if that's actually necessary or me trying to save time where it isn't possible. And maybe a little more "look-and-feel" customization, but that is far from a deal-breaker

Powerful and easy to use AI assistant

Commenti: I still consider myself a new user, but I have already had significant success in using it to prepare for meetings and even during meetings to refine existing chats and get information quickly. The application lends itself to immediate productive use without having to refer to user guides or tutorials. I have been able to be very productive from my first use and look forward to improving my expertise and proficiency.

I like how easy it is to create specialized brains based on personal or professional files, documents, notes, and web pages in the application. I have personally created hundreds of reports over my career, and I can upload those and those of my colleagues to create a specialized brain. I also rely heavily on environmental codes and regulations, and now I can upload codes, ordinances, and regulations and get the specific answers I need with references to the relevant sections. This is a major time saver and game-changer for me.

Aspetti negativi:

I have occasionally experienced large memory usage and have had to force quit and restart the app.

Elephas is very easy to use and its very context aware on my mac. I just default to use it all the time. Not just like those software you install and then forget about, this one calls the necessity to be used in many default and custom ways.

King of AI clients

Commenti: I've tried pretty much every local AI client on my Mac, but Elephas may be the best. Really centres on building knowledge bases (aka 'Brains') which is a common use case I have. Also provides all the other tools you'd expect (chat, text replacement, personas/tones etc).

Commenti: Responsive developer and frequent updates. Happy so far, even though I'm only utilizing a small set of features.

Elephas AI: The Good, The Great, The Semi-Bad, and the Polished “Uglies”

Commenti: It’s not web-based or a web app which I like and prefer, but it also doesn’t look as sexy as the web apps you see. Frankly, I could care less about that once you get a handle on the user interface, which isn’t the most intuitive it all of a sudden clicks and it becomes incredibly intuitive. I started slow with this app as many contenders were taking up my attention, but I kept coming back to it, and it has now solidified itself as they go to for multiple second brain, knowledge bases I have branded and optimized within my account

It is rare to find a file drag and drop AI agent builder With unlimited storage and such a wide array of file types that it accepts. Most have limitations for no stated reason such as some competitors can’t accept images were marked down files or audio files or video links or even video files themselves. I haven’t come across any file types that Elephas does not accept into the knowledge basis of the agents. With the SetApp Subscription you get around the moderately high subscription cost to Elephas And forward you access to some basic ChatGPT models out the gates. For me personally, I would run through the credits that I get with SetApp Using ChatGPT and with my high tier SetApp Subscription I don’t want to burn AI credits where I can help it. So for me personally, I take advantage of the API keys that I plug into the AI provider field in Elephas setting. Grok, Meta, Gemini, ChatGPT, And Claude are all plugged in for me as I have accounts at those respective companies. I also use JanAI over Other options Elephas Recommends next to Jan AI On their support pages to run a local server and a local large language model that I can situate on top of my Elephas AI Knowledge Bases or “Brains” As they are referred to in Elephas.

The mobile app is really nothing more than a additional iOS Keyboard and for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to add content from my iPad or iPhone to second brains or knowledge basis stored within Elephas on Mac. And the keyboard functionality is pretty bad, so the frustrations of using it have led me to drop it altogether and the vision portrait on the website as it relates to using the iOS functionality doesn’t seem to match my experience, but please keep in mind I threw in the towel on this after lots of frustration and have it revisited. It has my MacBook experience is supreme I often have to go into preferences and I would prefer one single pane of user interaction, But speaking for the MacBook app I can Zelle you there are two but entering preferences/settings Is a little annoying to click the drop-down menus from either my global shortcut menu at the top right or the drop-down to preferences On the top left

If they take away Elephas from me I will lose my job

Commenti: In general, I'm ElephasDicto, I simply use it for everything. In fact, I wish I had more time to study the documentation in depth - I feel that no matter how hard I try I'll never be able to use all the functions. I may not have Google, but I don't have Elephas.

I am biased when it comes to talking about Elephas; I use it for absolutely everything. From rewriting a text for me to reminding me of facts I didn't even remember (with Brain). However, the platform won me over the day I simply asked if there was a way to change the app to Portuguese-BR in the keyboard settings on the iPhone, and the developer said he would look into it. Magically, days later, without any announcements, he added the feature. This kind of support is extremely rare to see (and I've seen it several times on Discord). In fact, I used Elephas to translate this, haha!

1) I miss the possibility of setting a single model for all responses in the default settings section. In fact, I am available to help.

Flexible AI tool with superb functionality

Commenti: It's a great tool, one of the earliest AI related tools I bought. No regrets whatsoever.

Aspetti positivi:

The Super Brain function is brilliant. It's my daily driver. Also, I can use chat with a local LLM, so everything stays local. And it can export the results directly into a Keynote presentation - if you have a ready presentation template, you can be set in 5 minutes.

The UI wasn't the greatest until the updates done a while ago.
