Informazioni su MediaShout
Software di presentazione della Chiesa per mostrare testi, Bibbie, annunci e quasi tutti i file multimediali. Inoltre, sono disponibili incredibili opzioni di supporto.
The thing that has kept me is the customer service the staff are always friendly and helpful and if they can't figure out my problem they won't stop until it's done.
I miss the "BOB" option that the Media Shout programs had previously.

Let me shout about Mediashout
Commenti: I am very pleased with the software and think that anyone who needs a quality presenter software should definitely put this on the top of your try list.
Aspetti positivi:
The product is remarkably simple to teach others how to use. The software is very adaptable for systems. I like the fact that it can handle multiple displays so easily.
Aspetti negativi:
Updates can cause the software to delay when loading, which is only a concern when running the software.

Why Shout for MediaShout
Commenti: We have used MediaShout for over a decade.
Aspetti positivi:
1. Price - there is a onetime price vs a monthly/yearly subscription. 2. Features - The version you purchase is yours. While there are free versions of presentation software that are good for a small startup congregation, Media Shout will grow with you and your needs 3. Ease of use - we have successfully trained people from 17 to 65 to use the software comfortably 4. Training - there are a number of simple and quick training videos on YouTube
Aspetti negativi:
Usable copy purchases are somewhat limiting or intimidating. You receive a limited number of activations at time of purchase. The full version trial program helps to ensure that the PC you are putting it on is really ready. I always recommend using an up-to-date PC with higher specs than required.
Alternative considerate:
Don't Recommend
Commenti: When we first started using media shout it seemed OK but as time went on it seemed to be issue after issue with poor customer service.
Aspetti positivi:
I could not find anything that I liked about media shout.
Aspetti negativi:
Constant failure to work with windows and would constantly shut down during use of the program
Pretty good church presentation software
Commenti: Mediashout let us create a more engaging service for our guests and congregation. We were able to not only have lyrics on the screen, but give them a wide variety of backgrounds and animations. Additionally we could automate some slides like our announcements to run on a timer until we were ready to proceed. And the ease of adding multiple media sources like audio and video gave us new avenues to share more content with our live audience.
Aspetti positivi:
Mediashout provided us with advanced presentation options for our church, giving us lyrics, slides, transitions, media playing capability, and verse sharing on the screens throughout our sanctuary. Our staff and volunteers were able to setup Sunday morning services and everything that needed to be on the screens. We did this in advance, saved the files, and went live on Sundays. Mediashout let us expand our capabilities outside of Powerpoint and incorporate more media into our services, which helped us keep our congregation engaged.
Aspetti negativi:
Media shout did a lot of advanced features compared to powerpoint but wasn't as advanced as pro presenter. We had issues editing slides on the fly and when things went sideways in the service, it was difficult to see all the slides at a glance to jump ahead or behind within the same window like Propresenter. And the software used a lot of system resources, so we had to make extra sure nothing was running in the background.

Thanks for taking the time to review! We're so glad to have been able to serve your church. From the content of the review, it looks like you may have been using a slightly out of date version. We'd love to invite you to check out features like Presenter View in MediaShout 7 to have a better experience seeing slides at a glance or jumping around as needed. The editing process has also been streamlined so it's a bit quicker to put things together even on the fly- AND there's about to be a new update to MediaShout 7 with even more focus on on-the-fly firing. Stay posted, and please let our support team know if we can help in any way on mediashout.com/support.
Media Shout 7 Integration
Commenti: An excellent company to deal with
Aspetti positivi:
It was from a trusted and tried company who we have used for previous versions.
Aspetti negativi:
The look and feel and the user interface were so different from the previous version that it took quite a time to get used to. Some of the critical features of previous versions were not incorporated in the initial release but it is getting better with updates.

No longer using
Commenti: This was the cutting edge presentation software for churches when it first was released. Then ProPresenter came along and made everything easier.
Aspetti positivi:
The bible scripture feature was so easy to display verses from different bible translations.
Aspetti negativi:
It was not user friendly, especially for volunteers who weren't using the software enough to stay familiar with the layout.

Hey Richard! Thanks for your review. You're right, MediaShout was the "pioneer" of church presentation software with the first ever concept of being able to navigate slides in random order or use motion backgrounds even. I wonder if you've seen our newer versions that came out around when ProPresenter was launched, and after? People say that our recent version 6, and especially our brand new version 7 are much easier than ProPresenter. We have folks switching all the time because MediaShout still allows advanced features, but doesn't take an advanced user skillset to be able to design and run. I'd recommend checking out this link to see a video of how you can setup an average church service in literally 7 minutes total, in fact: https://youtu.be/hBiXSn4cDGI And running it-- so easy that anyone could do it without ANY training (As a worship leader, I've personally had someone jump on 5 minutes before the service, who had never SEEN Version 7 before, and ran it with no trouble!)

A Great Presentation App That Is Friendly to the Volunteer and Tech Alike
Commenti: We deploy media shout to many of our clients who prefer a user friendly app that doesnt bog down your computer but still offers a clean, punchy presentation
Aspetti positivi:
Media Shout has a great layout and platform that lends itself to a quick learning curve.
Aspetti negativi:
I would love to see a better IOS interface and possible airplay or NDI functionality.
Making Slides in MediaShout
Commenti: I enjoy using MediaShout for making slides. It is easy to collaborate with others and customize the slide's content. I would definitely recommend MediaShout!
Aspetti positivi:
I love the ease of inserting lyrics and slides as well as choosing from a variety of backgrounds!
Aspetti negativi:
I have also used Propresenter as a program to make slides. Propresenter has more features, but MediaShout was just as easy to use. Honestly, it is all in what you get used to using. There is nothing inherently bad in using MediaShout.
Fantastic product
Commenti: We love the program and are still learning new things about it
Aspetti positivi:
Takes a little to get started but training videos help. Been using this for a year and a half and I am still learning new things about the systems
Aspetti negativi:
The instruction manual could be a little better
MS 7 is a terrible program
Commenti: Until now it has been good. We wasted our money with MS 7.
Aspetti positivi:
Although previous MS programs have been fairly easy to use and navigate we are finding MS7 to have many issues in navigation and set up. The instructions are hard to follow and when support does help you they go through things so fast that it is hard to keep up.
Aspetti negativi:
MS 7 is hard to set up on a weekly basis.
Help was outstanding
Commenti:
[sensitive content hidden]
was extremely helpful when the program wasn't functioning the way it should. He spent alot of time with me till I was comfortable with the new layout.
Aspetti positivi:
Ease of adding slides, the size of the script.
Aspetti negativi:
I don't like that the timer appears on all slides and it's an extra step to get it off the slides you don't want it on.

An Easy to Use GREAT Solution for Flawless Worship Experiences
Commenti: We have had some issues getting it to run on our monitors in our church. We are working out the "bugs," and this may be our issue, not the MediaShout program. I would like to be able to drag videos, etc. off my desktop right into the library. I have to keep going in and changing settings if a video or music is in different folders on my desktop.
Aspetti positivi:
MediaShout transformed our worship service from fragmented and "unprofessional" (I hate that word, but truly it was rough) into something that has flow, form and makes worship run smoothly. Our congregation is older, and we have a gentlemen in his 80s using the program on Sunday morning. That is how easy it is to use! I create the presentations in about an hour, using saved cues, creating new cues and inserting Bible text for each week. It is a great time saver for me, which is very important, since I am one of a two person staff at the church! My experience in creating and presenting with MediaShout has been very good. I do recommend it.
Aspetti negativi:
Learning to use it was a little intimidating, and the introduction spoke in MediaShout language, which was difficult and different (for example a cue instead of a slide, or a ribbon instead of a header). Learning the jargon of the program was half the battle of learning to use it. It was like you had to learn a new language before you could get started.
Freezes and crashes
Commenti: Overall, our church has been very impressed and satisfied with this program. It's the glitches tied to program freezes that distracts from Sunday services.
Aspetti positivi:
While there are many fine tuning details to learn, this is a user friendly program that provides lots of options for professional quality presentations. It's relatively easy to teach someone how to run a presentation once it's been put on a script and that's important with a team of church volunteers who rotate from week to week. We've used this software for over seven years and it serves our projection presentation needs remarkably well.
Aspetti negativi:
I, personally, still much prefer the format of the MS 5 to the MS 6 version and so do the volunteers at our church. It's just a simpler screen to look at and find things and I'd suggest that Media consider giving users the option of which design format layout they'd rather use. The biggest problem we've had with both versions came when we moved to High Definition Resolutions and file sizes and, despite trying to troubleshoot with Media Shout, we continue to have frequent crashes on larger background files, particularly video files. We're using many of the same graphics as we did at lower resolutions but upping the screen resolutions has led to far more crashes.

Amazing Presentation Software
Aspetti positivi:
The program is very easy to use and covers all our needs as a church. Being able to show lyrics and Bible verses and ppts seemlessly makes MS6 worth it. Being able to open multiple presentations is a useful new feature.
Aspetti negativi:
We have encountered random crashes and bugs in the program. Even those are rare, it does get annoying if that happens during service. When moving between decks, it feels like MS6 is moved backwards in comparison to MS5 and MS4. Being able to skip slides without having to use the mouse is very useful to our church and using the arrow keys then entering was a valuable feature that was lost. Finally, an update to the Android version of MSRemote to match the iOS would improve our experience.

Hey Alwin, Thank you for the review! I'm sorry you've encountered occasional "buggy" crashing issues. I would mention that crashing, though rare, is often caused due to a Windows Update changing settings in your machine. As a software, MediaShout is supremely stable and will only crash, for instance, if you have outdated video card drivers, PowerPoint implementation, or mis-matched codec settings. When something like that happens, reach out to us -- submit a ticket, get on our chat line, etc. We're here to help! Thanks, and be blessed!
I love MediaShout. It is excellent church presentation software
Commenti: This software helps to enhance the spread of important information, it helps to enhance worship services, and is very cost effective.
Aspetti positivi:
I love the numerous features and options that help to make for a vibrant worship service. Most of all, I love the wide selection of Bible translations that are available without the need of having to purchase a separate license for each translation. This is really the main reason that we chose MediaShout above the others.
Aspetti negativi:
It can be a bit complicated to operate the software. Stability is a bit of an issue. Even with a powerful machine, it may crash from time to time. I am not thrilled with the past licensing model that at times necessitated having to potentially purchase a new license if a computer crashed. It would be nice to have an option where licenses could be activated/deactivated via a secure login. However, I think that the new licensing model which makes it more cost effective just to purchase unlimited licenses will remedy this issue. Finally, upgrade pricing is too high.

Hey Gary, Thank you for the review! We've found MediaShout to be a very stable program among church presentation software. Occasional crashing can normally be attributed to outdated graphics drivers, implementation of PowerPoint or mis-matched codec settings. We also look forward to the day when users can deactivate "dead" computers via their secure logon to their MediaShout account. It is unfortunate that computers can become unusable before you have a chance to deactivate. In that instance, just give us a call -- or submit a ticket or chat -- and let us know the name of the computer in question and we will deactivate it on our end, opening that activation up for your later use. It wouldn't necessitate purchasing another activation to use on the replacement computer. Again, thanks, and be blessed!
We were a MediaShout customer for many years but had too many problems with the program.
Commenti: None.
Aspetti positivi:
Not much. It was affordable? We had to switch to another program because MediaShout was so unusable.
Aspetti negativi:
MediaShout stops working and crashes multiple times during editing of the slides. Customer service was not good, never answered the phone even during the customer service hours and took a long time to call back. The tutorial videos were not helpful at all. The software does not have a user-friendly interface in general but is especially unusable to people who have no experience with the program. Steep learning curve transitioning from MediaShout 5 to MediaShout 6. No matter how many times we talked to customer service, crashing problems were never resolved. Program was extremely slow. Many other problems but cannot list them all because of Capterra word limit.

We've had a few conversations with this customer and provided answers and support to them multiple times even when our offices were closed (Sundays). Many of the issues appear to be related to computer hardware, but unfortunately our senior tech hasn't had an opportunity to look at it with them. Instead, it seems as if the finger is pointed at our software and our team when the customer may not have a full understanding of how software and hardware impact each other. In addition, they have posted negatively on numerous sites because we won't provide a refund (which is clearly stated in our policies) instead of allowing our team to support them like we do for our many other customers. We are in this position to serve the church because we love doing that. But we will not allow people to falsely accuse us of things we have not done. We have reached out to this user multiple times since this post and will continue to because that is our heart and commitment to the church.
Made my first custom count-down timer
Aspetti positivi:
I'm not usually the on-site tech guy for special events, but it happened to be me the other day. Among the inevitable last-minute requests was a count down timer to display on the main screens during intermission so everyone would know when it was time to continue the concert. But, they didn't want a generic video off youtube, they wanted something themed to match the event so it looked intentional. Now, I am not the regular Media Shout guy, in fact I don't think I had ever actually used it for a live event before. This responsibility falls on me so rarely that I usually just go with PowerPoint. I knew MediaShout had better tools for us, but never bothered to learn them, and I was more familiar with PowerPoint. But, a count down timer? I did a quick search on how to create a count down timer in our version of PowerPoint. After skimming a few steps in, I realized this was not the way to go. So, I opened up MediaShout to see what I could figure out. Oh, my, that was too easy. I dropped in a background to match the concert theme and added a count down timer, gave it a nice font and matching color. Ta-da. The event organizers were happy and it worked flawlessly.
Aspetti negativi:
Seems like this thing loads pretty slow. It's running on a good computer, but still seems like it takes forever to open and load up the file.
Great for Churches with Good Volunteers
Commenti: My experience has been overall very positive. I can't say enough good things about their customer support employees as well. We were doing worship slides on PowerPoint before MediaShout, and the difference is astounding.
Aspetti positivi:
rHaving ease of access for Bible translations and hymn/song lyrics has drastically cut down on the time it takes me to do the worship slides each week. I find the Bible tool particularly helpful, no more copying and pasting! After a brief learning curve, MediaShout is easy to use and easy to be picky about.
Aspetti negativi:
I sometimes experience crashing with MediaShout, occasionally at very inopportune times. When I try to do something it just doesn't like, down it goes with little or no warning or explaination.

Hey there! Thank you so much for the kind words and being part of the MediaShout family. We want your experience to be flawless, if at all posible, so if you haven't already reached out to our customer support team, be sure to do that. We'd love to look into any crashing issues you're seeing and make sure we either work with you directly to resolve any system specific issues, or that we report whatever is causing it to our development team so they can conquer it once and for all in a future updates. We're continually updating the software and expecting another update soon, and with each one, we get even more stability, performance, and features! Thanks again!
Not a satisfied customer
Aspetti positivi:
I have used it for many years in different churches and it has always performed very well. It was reliable. I like the features of release 6 but I hate the lack of stability. I have purchased the upgrade to release 7 (at my other church) and found it incomplete and not nearly as intuitive as advertised.
Aspetti negativi:
Instability and the fact we now have to pay for support for a quirky product.
Risposta di Wordsmith

We'd be happy to help you in any way when it comes to stability. Even version 6 is a very solid program assuming the system is up to spec and there aren't external issues like video codecs being out of whack, windows updates messing up displays, etc. Our support team can usually get you some help to get pretty rock solid performance. I myself have used the program on the road worship leading and personally I trust it, even on a lower powered older laptop. Regarding Version 7, with agile development, there are some features still coming, but the base of the program is still there and is already serving I'd say over 1000 churches since it released a little over a month ago. I'd check out the latest update if you haven't already, and do let our support team know if you're waiting on a certain feature- but honestly at this point there's not much it can't do, and do well!
Good product for our Church
Commenti:
We have been using it for years for our Church's audio/visual.--Display presentations (church services and special services) needs.
Started with Version 3 many years ago.
We have had problems/bugs, but there support staff has prevented catastrophes.
Newbies might want consider Support Plus at least for a while.
Aspetti positivi:
It does what it is designed to do. Learning curve isn't overwhelming. Support people are EXCELLENT.
Aspetti negativi:
They rely a lot of video training. I would like to have a more in depth manual. Although not the fault of Mediashout, Using Powerpoint slides can be problematic. We do fine with Powerpoint 2007 and 2010. Changes made by Microsoft prevent us from updating to newer Microsoft Office.

Hey Richard! Thanks so much for taking the time to review. We take pride in listening to feedback from users and responding when we can. I wanted to let you know we do have a new PDF manual we're about to put out for MediaShout 7, AND our very next update issues improvements to one of our Powerpoint import mechanisms (which of course has been challenging with all the changes to MS Office). Feel free to check it out when it releases (it will be announced via email) and get with our support if needed!
A good idea unrealized
Commenti: I have used MediaShout since version 4. I’m finally convinced to move on. Sad, because I think these are good people. But I need flawless execution. I have enough other worries on a Sunday morning.
Aspetti positivi:
I love the ideas behind Media Shout. Ministry videos tool to present at church. Interface is good looking.
Aspetti negativi:
My older computer is almost useless with MediaShout 7. Understandable. But it also consistently has issues on a new-build computer that exceeds their system requirements.

Hey there! Thanks for your kind words and taking the time to review Version 7. We hate to hear you experienced issues with performance and we've actually been working on making sure this version is able to be run on just about any system and smoothing out any potential issues in that regard. In fact, we did release another performance update even a couple weeks after your review. We understand if you've found something that meets your needs better, but wanted to make sure you knew about the update in case you want to check it out. And also, our team would love to work with you (or work with you further if we already have) to end any of those issues once and for all if at all possible! We do thank you for ultimately being a part of the MediaShout family, so just know we're here for you if you need assistance!
MediaShout Matters
Commenti: This has been a great tool to implement in our church setting. We have gotten great response from it, and it has been easy to train our new recruits for Sunday services. Definitely recommended!!
Aspetti positivi:
This is a wonderful tool to use to project song lyrics for our church services. There are many great options to add backgrounds, still shots, video graphics, and much more. We also use the confidence monitor for our choir and praise team members as well. This has been a huge help in boosting confidence for our music ministry.
Aspetti negativi:
This product crashes frequently. And often right in the middle of a service inevitably. This is a great product, but I can never fully trust it to make it through the day without some sort of hiccup. It's one of those products that you learn its quirks and just roll with it whatever happens.

Hey Katie! Thanks for taking the time to review. Depending on what version of MediaShout you're running, I would bet our support team can help with those issues to make MediaShout for more solid for you. Our development team is also continually working on our newest version with stability as a top priority! Keep us posted if we can help in any way.
Solid Presentation Software
Commenti: We have enjoyed Media Shout overall and not only use it in our specific ministry but across the entire church.
Aspetti positivi:
I enjoy that Media Shout allows you to move through slides seamlessly while the presentation is going on. It integrates videos well and helps save time with it's selection of pre-filled music slides. It's also great that you can import PowerPoint slides directly into Media Shout without issue.
Aspetti negativi:
I wish it was easier to have a slide that could connect to the internet so you could provide auto-updating for things like live polls.
Good Projection Tool with some quirks
Aspetti positivi:
I really like the ease with which you can build a script for your service and update the information from week to week. I also really like that you can build your own lyric library so you are not constantly entering the hymn lyrics from week to week.
Aspetti negativi:
I find that computer updates often change the output settings, particularly audio, and as a volunteer I don't always have time to make sure everything is working correctly. Also, the paste function within MediaShout acts differently (whether it keeps source formatting or not) depending on right click and paste vs. using crtl+v which I find a bit annoying. I also wish it was easier to create slideshows within MediaShout, but that is not too hard to do with the native photos app on the computer.
It's a piece of software that seems to have rested on their laurels
Commenti: It was relevant at one point in time, but it's just so limited and stale now.
Aspetti positivi:
Way back when churches all moved from PowerPoint to MediaShout. The built-in bibles, song databases and ease of use were the attraction. MediaShout were killing it! For some MediaShout is what they know and love, so it works for them.
Aspetti negativi:
It's just too limited. And for the price, it's not worth it. There is other software that caught up and went way past in usability. If you aren't heavily invested in MediaShout already, look elsewhere, it's software that feels like it hasn't been updated in 10 years.
