Aspetti negativi:
Since implementation,it has been our best for cloud UML diagramming. Therefore no single con to register.
A Versatile and User-Friendly Diagramming Tool
Commenti: "I've been using Gliffy for a few years now, and overall I've been really impressed with its versatility and ease of use. The drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to create diagrams quickly, and there are a wide range of diagram types available, which is helpful when I need to create different types of visualizations. I also appreciate the ability to customize the colors and fonts, which helps me to create diagrams that fit my specific needs and preferences. One downside is that it can take some time to learn all of the features and options, and the free version has some limitations, which may be a consideration for some users. However, I've found the collaboration features to be really helpful when working on group projects, and I've been able to integrate it with other tools such as Jira and Confluence. Overall, I would definitely recommend Gliffy to others looking for a powerful and user-friendly diagramming tool."
Aspetti positivi:
Easy to use drag-and-drop interface.Wide range of diagram types available.Customizable with a variety of colors, fonts, and shapes.Integrates with other tools such as Atlassian's Jira and Confluence.Offers collaboration features for real-time teamwork.
Aspetti negativi:
May have a learning curve for new users.Free version has limited features. Some users may find the number of features and options overwhelming.Limited options for importing and exporting data.No mobile app, which may limit its accessibility for some users.
A basic tool to perform UX wireframe, diagram related work
Commenti: Overall my experience with Gliffy is an average. I hope they can add more features which are available with the other tools in the market. There are some great features and there are some picky stuff which can be relooked for better user experience.
Aspetti positivi:
Not much but, I like couple of things like the option from the left panel to add more shapes. This is really a good addition to the tool and the expand and collapse of the left panel is great feature. When we want a room to work on the board we can collapse the left panel and expand it when ever it's required. along with that the resource option which is there in the bottom right corner also a good feature. When there is a new feature enabled, we can have a quick glance to check from there.
Aspetti negativi:
The connector tool has a wired behavior some times. After adding the shape, I am not able to add the connectors. I have to click on some other shape in the left pane and then I need to re-select the connectors. This is really frustrating some time. Also the free/trial version if they can share all the features or more features, users can check it out and evaluate the product if they can use it or not, instead of go for a paid version to check all the features.
Alternative considerate:
Great balance of features
Commenti: When many of my colleagues are struggling with PowerPoint or trying to remember how to use Visio, I quickly throw together a process diagram that I can share with engineering or other stakeholders. It's quick and easy to use and solves my problems.
Aspetti positivi:
Chrome app so it's light weight and easy to install. Good balance of features on the free version. Doesn't try to do too much in terms of icons and options - it's the perfect tool if you want to do a process diagram and UML document.
Aspetti negativi:
Could benefit from more options with connectors (arrows or direction of flow). The text placement on the diagram elements are not always ideal and can cut off other parts of the diagram. Better file management.
Alternative considerate:
Good only if you use Confluence
Aspetti positivi:
This was easy to use and made explaining tech workflows and processes easier.
Aspetti negativi:
We actually don't use Gliffy anymore because while it was great with Confluence, we needed it to be more versatile and integrate with other applications, so we switched to Lucidchart.
Intuitive Diagram Creation
Aspetti positivi:
It helps me quickly make diagrams to show complex ideas. I recently used Gliffy to plan a new software system, and the drag-and-drop features and various templates made it a fast and enjoyable task.
Aspetti negativi:
Needed more customization options for my diagrams and found that Gliffy’s options were somewhat limited, which restricted how detailed I could make my diagrams.
Excellent application for creating process flowcharts
Aspetti positivi:
Gliffy is easy to use and has all basic features needed to create flowcharts. I also like how simple and friendly the user interface looks. The drag and drop feature is so easy to use that anyone can actually use this application without difficulty.
Aspetti negativi:
Though there's a free version, I don't think that's adequate for my needs. That means paying a monthly fee to use the paid version. And it's not really cheap, especially for individual users.
We use Gliffy to do online systems documentation.
Aspetti positivi:
I like the Gliffy is easy to use and integrates well with the rest of the Atlassian stack. This allows us to keep track of the documents created and search for them later. The functionality is comparable to the traditional market leader and has a robust set of inbuilt graphic elements.
Aspetti negativi:
I would like the see a data-driven model allowing me to have live diagrams that pull from outside databases.
Very handy tool for software architects
Commenti: I have been using Gliffy Diagram for several years and I have been thoroughly impressed with the cool set of tools and their deployment model. When it comes to putting together software architecture diagrams I do not even think of any other tools these days. Excellent work team. Thank you.
Aspetti positivi:
Ability to be used as an extension within the other document curation tools like Chalk and all within the browser. Nicely organized set of really good and relevant pre-defined components that really helps quickly drawing an idea into a diagram.
Aspetti negativi:
At times, the components become a little bit shaky that they do not behave exactly as they should. Some times memory consumptions becomes a little too heavy for a browser to handle especially for large diagrams.
Easy diagraming tool
Commenti: We use it in integration with confluence and is super useful
Aspetti positivi:
Gliffy has a very wide variety of shapes and they are very well organized
Aspetti negativi:
I don't like that every time you click "save" button it creates a new version of the diagram even if the diagram had no changes at all, yo can end up with several versions that are exactly the same
My Practical Seamless Experience with Gliffy IT Product
Commenti: An exceptional multi-purposed/channel/linguigal WYSIWYG tailored with architect design drawing tools, UML Technical drawings, team intranet and advocacy center, VOip audio calls, BIM persistent rooms, File sharing amongst more.
Aspetti positivi:
Robust customisable themes (CT) tailored in creating unique and visually appealing designs aligning with brand guidelines or client preferences. It has robust collaboration and sharing features which I apply to share work with clients. I also like its ADT such as AIET, vector graphics, and topography options enabling me to create intricate and professional designs.
Aspetti negativi:
My organisation and I are much satisfied and greatful to Gliffy software vendor.
Used Gliffy to create Entity Relationship & Data Flow Digrams
Commenti:
1. Easy collaboration.
2. Requirements being represented via diagrams.
3. Ability to explain end to end work flow via flow charts.
Aspetti positivi:
1. Easy to use tool, with a lot of options available allowing to create diagrams of various categories like DFD, ER diagrams etc. 2. Very extensive library for various kinds of shape. 3. Availability to be used with Confluence is a great feature, where we create diagrams online and can embed these to our documentation. 4.Having the gliffy plugin for Confluence and my rep is really helpful. 5. Helps to collaborate and capture feedback online. 6. Pricing is very reasonable in comparison to similar tools available in the market.
Aspetti negativi:
1. Missing the feature of brainstorming. 2. Should provide an ability to download diagrams in various available formats
UML Technical Drawing and Team Intranet GURU
Commenti: Multi-linguigal cloud software for bringing teams together via VC, VOip audio, BIM persistent rooms architecture drawing. Online file sharing.
Aspetti positivi:
It has extreme setups and plugins. Alignment or design drawing tools and integration. IRC-Style featured BIM persistent chatting rooms. Cloud file sharing services. CVC and live conversation support. VOip audio calls and charts drawing.
Aspetti negativi:
Gliffy IT software Product has fully optimized design drawings, team collaboration and color drawing design tools automation.
My go-to for all flow diagrams
Aspetti positivi:
Favourite Confluence plugin. I use this extensively at work. It has just about everything for creating diagrams - flowcharts, floorplans, electrical diagrams, rack diagrams e.t.c. I think it rivals (maybe even supersede) Visio.
Aspetti negativi:
Bug!!! Something does not like Google Chrome. Usually this is fixed on the next release of either Chrome, Gliffy plugin or Confluence. Does not cause problems, just an annoying pop up to report the issue.
Great online diagram creation tool
Commenti: Gliffy has been a great addition to our organization as it is being used by several department and practice groups to diagram processes, as well as organization charts, and technical documentation. It is easy to administer, and simple to learn with
Aspetti positivi:
Gliffy's strongest feature is its drag and drop functionality. Coupled with an easy to use interface, the average user can master process mapping in no time. A key feature for our organization has been Gliffy's integration into Confluence which allows us to easily build and link pages and spaces with visualization. Further, Gliffy
Aspetti negativi:
Gliffy meets all of our business needs, however, it isn't robust as some other alternatives (i.e. Visio, Lucidchart), however for cost, ease of use, and integration into our other tools it more then makes up for some losses in more specified requirements.
Simple and quick, Confluence integration, lots of other integrations, but limited
Commenti:
Gliffy is easier to learn than Visio, fairly intuitive and the common functions you need are close to hand (on right click or contextual menu button close to selected item).
Was quicker to draw a medium complexity diagram with boxes and connectors than Visio (or Powerpoint), and the resulting diagram looked good. Good range of available symbols and easy to add your own stencils from a SVG-based artwork (and JPG importing was easy too).
Small native file format, and it is text based (JSON) so it is searchable (and hackable if needed).
But there are limitations, which means it for the most complex or structured diagrams it can't replace Visio, OmniGraffle, or a Architecture tool (and would not replace Autocad or similar either)
I can see this may work better on tablets/touch screens than Visio
No bulleted text/numbered lists
Connectors won't "hoop" over lines, and you can't add additional bends in connectors (there are workarounds--import "hoop" shape or use a UML shape to fake a hoop with multiple lines)
Can't have text less than 9px in size.
Limited import and export options.
But the product is continuously developing.
Aspetti positivi:
Quick Free versions available Lots of integrations: Chrome, Google Drive, Google Docs Addin, MS word Addin, Confluence. Allows sharing of diagrams to multiple collaborators. Not very expensive
Aspetti negativi:
Free version will make your diagrams public after 15 days. You have to pay desperately for each integration: e.g. a paid for confluence license won't equate Visio import has to be paid for. non-standard file format (JSON instead of GraphML)
Alternative considerate:
Easy to use tool for business diagramming and software development
Aspetti positivi:
I am very pleased with how easy gliffy templates are easy to use and edit to fit all illustrative diagrams. The diagram board is also very easy to use and intuitive with drag and drop features.
Aspetti negativi:
Not applicable, nice experience so far.
Convenient but limited
Aspetti positivi:
I use gliffy with Confluence multiple times per week. It is certainly handy to have it built into a collaborative tool like Confluence, but its drawing abilities are limited. It absolutely saves time to have Gliffy as a widget built into Confluence. It is portable (works across any browser).
Aspetti negativi:
Worse than the limits is the performance for larger drawings. Once I've gotten into complex drawing with thousands of objects it gets INCREDIBLY slow. While I've had offers from Atlassian to help, this really is just their software limitations. I've had the problems across three different customer/work environments in which I've used Confluence to document large scale process improvements, flow charts, or network diagrams.
The accessible flowchart application designed with ease of use in mind
Commenti: Helps me create flowcharts to visualize complex processes and relationships
Aspetti positivi:
It's very easy to use. If you can use a word processor, you can use Gliffy. Plus, there is a free version so that if you don't find yourself frequently making flowcharts but occasionally have something that really just needs one to help visualize it, you don't have to be a trained user in expensive software to be able to make a simple flowchart. There are many different styling options, and it has all the basic flowchart options that you need to make a variety of different types.
Aspetti negativi:
I can't really think of anything negative to say about Gliffy, it's a joy to use and I've never really encountered any issues using it.
A tool that gives a simple and efficient way to improve the proccess management of the company
Commenti: A simple and easy-to-use software with a wide variety of tools, which enables us to create diagrams and process diagrams of departmental processes in a simple and collaborative way
Aspetti positivi:
The variety of customization tools to design processes.
Aspetti negativi:
The limitation on the color customization of the diagrams.
A powerful diagramming tool?
Commenti: Limited Customization Options: Some users may find that Gliffy's customization options are limited compared to other diagramming tools, which can make it challenging to create very specific or unique diagrams.
Aspetti positivi:
A comprehensive guide on how to use Gliffy's features to create different types of diagrams, such as flowcharts, org charts, network diagrams, and more.
Aspetti negativi:
Limited Customization Options: Some users may find that Gliffy's customization options are limited compared to other diagramming tools, which can make it challenging to create very specific or unique diagrams.
Used Gliffy as a diagram tool to create process flow diagrams and data flow diagrams
Aspetti positivi:
1. A variety of options to draw different types of diagrams. 2. A lot of shapes which enables easy representation of information. 3. Integration with Confluence gives a great flexibility.
Aspetti negativi:
For extracting the diagrams from Gliffy, options should be offered which are compatible with other prominent tools.
Excellent Diagram Tool
Commenti: I document process flows for software, data flow, and network diagrams. Gliffy works great for me because I can create it in Confluence on a Wiki page and edit it real-time in a quick efficient manner.
Aspetti positivi:
The ease of use and quick learning curve make Gliffy a top choice. If you do not need all the functionality of Visio but need to diagram or show flows, it provides the ability to document processes and diagrams in a simple quick and easy manner. Gliffy is intuitive to use, pulling shapes onto the canvas, color palette and test information right there. It also integrates with Confluence making a Wiki page diagram an easy activity.
Aspetti negativi:
There are a few areas where Gliffy is not intuitive and it lacks an easy explanation/help/ However since it's very intuitive to use, this is not a large problem.
