I wouldn't email and wouldn't get a response for days to a week. I was always talking to someone new, so there was no relationship built.

Software is great. Service support excels!
Aspetti positivi:
Ease of use. Both agencies and volunteers are able to register and navigate around the site intuitively. Add into it the fact that it is visually appealing, and it makes for a great user experience.
Aspetti negativi:
Some users are overwhelmed by the number of automatic responses, but that just encourages them to make refinements to their selection of interests, fans and causes.

It's Great if You Know How to Use it.
Commenti: Overall, our experience has been good; definitely better than what we had previously. Based on some surveys, our volunteers do not seem to be as impressed or fond of it. I could be a learning opportunity for us to find a way to create more value for them.

This system has some great features and unfortunately they are not used to the best of our ability. Keeping up with everything is a full time job; our volunteer coordinators don't have that luxury, and I, as the site manager have too many other job responsibilities to be able to devote the time needed. Hopefully, that will change in the near future and we will be able to create and hire someone specifically for this.On the end user side it seems to be easy to navigate; managing it is not as easy-remembering where to find certain features is not always intuitive.

Retrieving the data you are needing is not easy. You have to know exactly what order to add filters, and those available filters do not always give the options you are needing. For example, If I want to know who responded to an opportunity and which of those actually served/attended-can't do that. That seems like a common bit of information an organization would like to know.It would be great to be able to receive emails/notifications through the app.

Great product

I like that the Qualifications page allows us to allow and prevent people from registering for certain opportunities. This allows us to increase the safety of clients.
Aspetti negativi:
The site is not user-friendly for site managers, managers, and users because it is not intuitive enough. I also do not like the integration of Sterling because when people do not complete their background check orders, the site blocks them from going back and completing it again. There are also some simple features that I believe should be available and when I submit a ticket, staff ask me to write a suggestion for the "suggestion box".

However, the background checks function is an integration and we are unable to change the way in which Sterling conducts background checks with their software. We would be able to share how you can turn on or off your customizations within Get Connected to guide you to the outcome that best suits your program. We do love to keep the product suggestion forum open to clients as there you can share ideas with other Get Connected users, especially as we navigate changes to the software that would affect all clients or involve a longer development time. Getting connected with volunteers
Commenti: GC was straight forward with their presentation. They tried to answer all our questions as we had specific situations that they researched for us to be able to succeed.

I like the look of the portal. It is easy for users to find our events.
Aspetti negativi:
These are not cons, but items I wish we could have available. I have over 100 events and i wish i could print out all events on one spreadsheet with each events participants names.

Commenti: The benefit of being a centralized location where volunteers can come to browse a catalog of available volunteer opportunities and organizations. It was extremely valuable during March of 2020 at the onset of COVID.
Aspetti positivi:
I appreciate how we can filter out and target specific volunteers based on interests, causes, etc. It allows for a strategic and target recruitment strategy. The E-blast function is the most used function aside from creating opportunities and organizations. Customer care is always on point with our multi-layered questions and are very responsive in a timely manner.
Aspetti negativi:
There are a few strange nuances, but once you learn what those are, you can overlook them.

Get Connected is a flexible and useful volunteer tool.
Commenti: Overall Get Connected is a wonderful product. My only wish is that all nonprofit organizations would set up an account for their volunteer and event needs.

It is very easy to use for both the user and the agency. I love that I can "assume the primary manager" and make changes for our partners, if needed. I love the email tool as a boost in communicating an event or need - when someone receives a personal email the response is always greater. Our specific program, Volunteer Connect, is integrated with our local university's South Serves. That is a valuable way for the students at South Alabama to give back to the community outside of their school needs.

My experience and use is rather basic, therefore I do not have any suggestions for improvements. It seems that getting our "inside" volunteers i.e. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] to log their hours is cumbersome. I would like a simpler way for them to do so, as they are very busy in their day to day work and volunteer jobs. As an agency we want everyone who gives their time to us to be recognized and for us to note how many hours they give. We just have trouble with convincing them to create an account and record their time for each individual event/meeting etc.

FRFB Get Connected Review
Commenti: The last non-profit company I worked for utilized a different software for recording and engagement...it can't even compare to Get Connected. There is an ease to Get Connected that I haven't experienced with any other database management for profit and non-profit purposes. And if I have any questions, I can always reach out to Tech Support.

It's a one stop shop! I can easily access the information I'm looking for and pull reports as needed.
Aspetti negativi:
Some functions have too many steps and sometimes the steps just don't make sense. I should be able to do and access whatever I need to for a specific volunteer right from their account but it doesn't always happen.

Being able to have a centralized location for our volunteer data and locations.
Aspetti negativi:
Not so great on the support. Responses would become lengthy, videos would become confusing, and overall wishing more of a person to person call bound vs. all over email.

Get Connected Got Us Connected!
Aspetti positivi:
What I like most about the product is the ease of use. It is very simple to review messages, tasks, or other items as they arise. It is also simple to connect back to the sponsors of the product with comments or questions.
Aspetti negativi:
The problem I've encountered is that it is tied to GDPR standards. That posed a bit of a problem for our organization, but we were able to make changes in our process to accommodate the issues encountered due to GDPR adherence.

Get Connected is Amazing
Commenti: We have been able to successfully navigate difficult times with a pandemic thanks to GC. It's a fantastic product, and I would highly recommend.

GC is amazing for dynamic institutions. Rapidly having the ability to update volunteer opportunities, track volunteer hours, contact folks, send out e-blasts and communications really makes all the difference! Also their support team is AMAZING. Highly responsive and kind, I had never worked with such a wonderful group of support folks before.
Aspetti negativi:
There is a substantial learning curve to it. Sometimes, you have to really be familiar with the way things are set up in order to get the information and data you're looking for.

Get Connected has allowed us to streamline our volunteer program. We advertise volunteer events, log volunteer hours and advertise for volunteer positions via the website. It has made my life as a volunteer coordinator easier and I would definitely recommend it!
Aspetti negativi:
The website does tend to send our volunteers a great deal of automatic emails which some people find annoying.

The most impactful part of this software is allowing nonprofits from all over the county to house their volunteer opportunities under one umbrella to be easily found and promoted

There should be more features available to agency partners, instead of just site managers. The surface-level features for agencies has turned many organizations away from joining our platform

Get Connected is a good investment in Volunteer Management
Commenti: I find the software easy to use from the administrator viewpoint and easy for the public, as well. The customer support is excellent! They have been very responsive, in a timely fashion, and always willing to help with whatever issue I might have.

It's easy to use and most of the public can use it relatively easily.
Aspetti negativi:
Would like more reporting functions (more detailed). Although I can get all the info on an excel spread sheet, since we've had this system since Aug. 2013 and there are 5,000+ users in the system, that's a lot of info to have to filter through to get what I need.

Commenti: The ability to educate and inform our community about the specific volunteer needs of local agencies, while providing those agencies with tangible support and a framework for managing their volunteer programs.

Get Connected is perfect for our needs. Agencies have autonomy over managing their individual pages, and users have control over the level of communication they receive. There is a robust help platform, and numerous features we haven't even had time to explore yet.
Aspetti negativi:
Nothing - the software is easy to use, has wonderful features, and the company is constantly making improvements. As an administrator, I found the communication filters a little confusing initially, but found all the support I needed in the help center.

Best volunteer management software on the market!

This tool allows administrators to have master control over the site. Users can easily view and respond to volunteer opportunities. Agencies can quickly and easily export their responses. The best part for our organization is the automated reminder and confirmation emails. The customer care team is top-notch and they respond quickly.
Aspetti negativi:
Using this software as a manager takes a little bit of training, especially as a manager. The dependence on an email address as the user's login or check-in has resulted in some users having multiple accounts.

Easy to use but would like more options for customization
Commenti: The software is easy to use for the volunteer which is VERY important. There a lot of options for information from the agencies to be provided. We receive positive feedback from agencies as well. We used Volunteer Solutions before and even though it was cluncky, I find myself missing the customization features of it. It would be nice to have more options on reports. We have reports that we have to provide for our HON affiliate report and I have to create a reporting system outside of Get Connected to collect data that I need to report. It would be great to be able to choose what is the default of the site, for example to have the default view be list view instead of grid view. For large events that have many opportunities, the list view has more per page and grid view creates more pages to sort through for the volunteer. I would like to create standard volunteer questions (such as a t-shirt size question) that I could just choose instead of having to enter it each time an event is created. It is also laborious for the event manager to go back and post the hours after a large event, it would be helpful to have the option of mass approval of hours for an event instead of individually.

Commenti: We are just getting started in our area with building our volunteer base. Everyone is excited about the possibilities.
Aspetti positivi:
It has plenty of help menus and seems to be rather self explanatory. Also any question we could not find in the help menus was answered quickly by customer service. The initial training was easy to understand. They also provided a video link so we could all view it again when we need to refresh our memories.
Aspetti negativi:
There are so many features that it is going to take me a while to learn all that we can do. After 4 months, I don't think I have used more than 1/3 of the features. But we will get there.

I wish we were able to delete certain information ourselves. I needed to ask someone to delete the fake company made in the walkthrough. I wish there was a way to do that myself in case I accidentally approve something I didn't need too.

Pros:
-I think the filter system for distance, interest, age, etc are great! This is especially helpful for students who are younger than 15 years old to find age appropriate volunteer opportunities
-Very easy for Agency Managers to sign up
Cons:
-The feature to find an agency doesn't work. You can put in the agency name and it will no longer find it, but rather you have to look at the whole list.
-The Group/Team volunteer opportunities is no longer available and this is a HUGE hinderance.
-Not obvious for volunteers on how to sign-up

Hey Tracy! Thanks for your kind words and feedback. We have great news for you: our August 2016 Enhancement Release will include a feature that will allow users to search for Agencies by name (yay!). As for the ability to post opportunities for Groups and Teams, you'll be happy to find that it's a setting that currently exists within Get Connected, so please get in touch with our Customer Care team to get you started.
Great Website, just wish things were more interconnected
Commenti: I'm a beginner at using this website as my county's new volunteer coordinator. So far, it's not been hard to use, but it does seem to be a little bit dated. Hopefully, when we're upgraded to 2.0 this will change, but I wish there was a way to have our streaming treats shown to visitors down the right or left side and I wish we had a better Facebook integration.

Great way to engage with our volunteer!
Commenti: This software provides a clean and beautiful user interface for volunteers looking for opportunities on our database. The customer service team is incredibly responsive in helping with any issues as soon as they arise, and issues are few and far between. We have begun posting most opportunities within the Advanced Events and/or the Disaster Response Module, and as we are learning more about the capabilities of these modules, it has been incredibly beneficial to more specifically track volunteer activity and provide detailed opportunities in the event of an emergency.

I am the primary manager of the software for our agency for the past 3 years.
Commenti: Although not intuitive in use, the software is fairly easy to learn and use. The task of encouraging other agencies that we support to utilize the software has been somewhat challenging. Turnover of agency staff is a large component of this issue as the task of marketing the benefits and training in the usage of the software seems to be an ongoing effort as staff changes occur. Customer service from Galaxy is top notch. My questions/concerns have been responded to quickly and pleasantly. Comparability with donation-related software would make Get Connected a super effective software.

Advanced Events
Commenti: Overall, our experience with GetConnected has been positive and a great improvement over the last system we used. They answer questions very quickly and respond to problems in a timely manner. I wish that the Advanced Events system was a little more flexible in how we could set up the events, especially since we have a lot of multi-day events with shifts. And, the group sign-up feature isn't the easiest for our users.
