Finally a software deployment tool that just works

Commenti: We had a very successful POC which showed how much time we would be saving using their platform.
Automox can automatically deploy patches endpoints need for OS or third-party applications. I'm also very excited about the features they will be adding to their platform.

Aspetti positivi:

I love how responsive the product is for being agent-based. Multi-platform support makes it easy to use one product for your patching and software deployment needs. Automatic scanning which uncovers which patches are needed for installed applications/OS. Their live dashboard makes it easy to determine the level of compliance. Their built-in live chat makes it easy to connect with Support to resolve issues.

Aspetti negativi:

Their current reporting makes for troubleshooting deployment issues difficult sometimes but their support is top-notch and I've been told this is being addressed as is on their roadmap.

Come for the updates stay for the worklets!

Commenti: Everything has been great. Product is easy to use and easy to learn the more complex features.

Aspetti positivi:

Ease of entry and continual use. Automox does what its suppose to when its suppose to.

Aspetti negativi:

Progress bar on updates would be very benefitial

Did not work correctly.

Commenti: Could not get this to work effectively even on just two windows servers, contacted support and got an initial response but nothing more. Looks nice and would be a good solution if it worked, it just seems unfinished and flaky. I suspect you need to enable a firewall rule for 3rd party updates to work ( suspect the same for Linux) .

Looks nice, works fine with Linux ( as long as firewall is set up) fairly simple setup.

Aspetti negativi:

Did not pick up that our 2008 test machine had not patched in 2 years. Did not show all the "Supported" 3rd party software. No Logs. Did not have any info on updates not applying. Policies did not seem to apply correctly. Still requires WSUS( or risk using online windows updates which kill bandwidth) No Linux Onsite Cache

Easily update multiple OS types together

Commenti: This platform does give you easy updates on multiple platforms with options to run custom scripts etc. sometimes there are issues but not something that won't happen on other platforms

It can update Linux, Windows & mac all together and has a lot of useful and easy to use capabilities

Aspetti negativi:

Sometimes updates don't work that will on all machines and sometimes there are issues when scanning for updates.

Automox is good

Commenti: It's good, been using it for some time now. No complaints. Easy to use

Aspetti positivi:

The ease of use, and clean HUD. It's easy to deploy endpoints and push out policy updates.

The end points sometimes lose connection to the main control

Why to use Atomox

Commenti: It has been great to push updates and organizing our machines

Aspetti positivi:

How super convienant it is to have all machines in one place to easily monitor

Automated Patching with Ease

Commenti: Automox is really easy to use and has a great GUI. Makes automating patching easy

Aspetti positivi:

Mac OS, Windows and Linux patching all in one tool.

Aspetti negativi:

No mobile management as of yet or maintenance windows but I think this is on the roadmap.

Keeping all your computers up to date automatically

Sometimes it causes black screens on servers and fails to reboot them

Amazing tool

Commenti: I couldn't see us ever not using it. we have offices situated around the world and now with home users it gives us a central control platfrom to update, deploy and amend devices regardless of their locations.

Aspetti positivi:

Being able to patch any machine and pretty much any app from anywhere, what isn't there to like as an IT admin. We previously used SCCM and that always depended on VPN or being on a network or when the schedule was, which meant our machines were always out of date. With Automox we don't have that issue. Also we can deploy apps and config to devices more efficiently than even SCCM or Autopilot.

Aspetti negativi:

The remote access component could be a great integration, but we haven't found it reliable.

It just works and the support is second to none!

Commenti: We were looking for an easy to use patching solution that worked along side of CrowdStrike for our patch management and vulnerability management for our server infrastructure. It has allowed us to get into monthly compliance with all patching.

Aspetti positivi:

Automox was easy to setup and deploy. The minor issues I had were resolved by support within minutes. Some of the best support in the industry at the time of this writing.

Aspetti negativi:

The only con I would give is that the windows updates are specifically tied to the built in windows update system. Meaning it's relying on the OS to do the patch scanning for the most part. This isn't the case with 3rd party software, but it is with Microsoft software.

Excellent patch management tool, that needs better dashboards and integrations.

Commenti: It's been a blessing, especially now all our workers are allowed to work remotely as much as they like. Without it, we'd have a real problem managing patches and enforcing certain system settings that used to require a VPN connection (sometimes rarely connected) or being in the office.

Aspetti positivi:

It's really easy to use and configure, which is great when you're a small team with a limited budget, but the thing I love most is that it's cross-platform, so we don't need 3 or 4 tools, scripts, or manual updates to manage all different Operating Systems and applications we use.

Aspetti negativi:

The dashboard is, well, pretty ugly, and doesn't really offer any customisation. I'd love to see UI update and custom charts based off search criteria.

Out of sight, out of mind

Commenti: We went from having servers and workstations that may or may not be current with updates, to not having to worry about it any longer.

Aspetti positivi:

Once Automox is set up, it is very easy to manage. All systems are kept current with little to no required actions by our IT staff. Adding new systems is as easy as installing a small client.

Aspetti negativi:

Automox is very powerful, so there are some features that seem complicated to set up. I feel that once those features were set up, the comfortability level would go up making them seem less daunting.

Automax is very helpful with patching

Commenti: I'm very happy with Automax and have recommended this product to several of my peers.

Aspetti positivi:

I like the ease of installation on each computer and that I can set it up to run scans and patches daily.

Aspetti negativi:

I don't have any Cons thus far. They continue to update the website and product.

Nothing, it is so easy to use and deploy. It has taken a lot of leg work out of the mix.

Possibilities are endless - Not just an update platform

Commenti: It's been a delight working with the software and the Automox team themselves. They're a great bunch that truly understands the needs of their customers. Solid A+

Aspetti positivi:

Windows Updates were our only priority when finding a solution, but once I realized the potential of what they had on their roadmap... I was hooked. Windows Updates/Software Patch Management/Custom policies/Reporting/Live dashboard.... It is a hefty tool that I plan to take advantage of as long as possible. They're always improving and adding features, and they take customer feedback very seriously. I've seen features fixed/updated or even features I've suggested on their roadmap within a week of discussing.

Aspetti negativi:

Originally, dashboard performance was hit/miss. It has improved a lot since then, and they're still working on further improving performance.

Simple software that continues to get better

Commenti: The software is simple and rollout is seamless, the console ensures we know whats going on for updates on our inhouse and cloud servers, this relieves a lot of manual work which we used to do on the boxs to keep them upto speed with windows updates.

Aspetti positivi:

Constant upgrades, good service and clear communication.

Aspetti negativi:

Lack of formal inventory planning, they are getting there but I dont think its a priority yet, however at the print point automox is a great value.

Awesome product

Commenti: Automox is the first patch management software I've used that I can trust to get the job done without babysitting. That said I did take 4 months of babysitting to prove to myself that I can finally relax, a little, and not worry about the job getting done.

Aspetti positivi:

Fast, Reliable, easy to configure and very easy to use.

Aspetti negativi:

The only issue I've seen so far, not really a problem just an annoyance, is when you sort by "Group Membership" it sorts the pages separately instead of truly sorting by the column. Like I said, just annoying.

Great patching solution

Commenti: Automox has been great in terms of support, billing, new features, etc.

Aspetti positivi:

It is web-based and easy to use. Login, review or kick-off a patching cycle and that's that!

Aspetti negativi:

Hmmm, that is a tough one. I think all patching software has problems getting all of the patching done so there still is some manual intervention, but a small percentage.

Automox - SaaS Patch Management for IT teams

Commenti: Due the fact that we have globally multiple locations and are workforce is also remote, Automox solve many issues which we had before to keep our computers up to date and patch against the latest security threats. We had tried few products and none of them was so simple to use, deploy and get to business ion very short period of time for our IT team.

Aspetti positivi:

Simplicity of deployment, not requirement of long training to get use to it, cross support for Windows/Max and Linux. Ability to patch system that are remote and not physically in the office.

Aspetti negativi:

In beginning there were not many features and no SSO support -- this has been quickly added into the product in very short period of time.

Commenti: Security for our PCs, Macs, and Windows-based servers. Our accounting department likes that I can pull up specific information about users & computers.

Aspetti positivi:

Ease of use & outstanding graphics for representing the data - those are the 2 things that stand out the most. This software gives us peace of mind knowing that our remote company-owned devices are being patched. The developers are doing a great job of keeping up with the latest security threats. I love having current threat info easily accessible within the Automox dashboard. Their tech support is excellent.

Aspetti negativi:

I would like to see more attention given to the 3rd party software deployment policy so the steps involved in creating the policy make the deployment even easier. More compatibility and guidance.

Perfect patching solution for our mixed environment

Commenti: Without Automox I would have no way of knowing for sure that our devices are patched. We do not have a Mac management tool or local Active Directory. Automox has been the perfect solution for our needs.

Aspetti positivi:

The ease of use. I love the ability to see everything at a glance in the portal, and it is so easy to apply policies and settings.

Aspetti negativi:

I would prefer to have the ability to search on additional properties of the connected devices. Currently the search is limited to built-in filters.

Automox's laser focus on patching/vulnerability remediation makes beats multifunction competitors who try to do too much and fail in multiple areas. If you're looking for patching stop and try Automox now.

Reporting has made huge improvements in the last year but still has room for improvement. They're also adding 3rd party software but currently don't have wide coverage.

Automox: Saves you a patching headache...or three

Commenti: Overall, Automox has been a positive addition to our environment. It has made patching our Windows environment much more reliable. Not only this, but we can push out software and scripts to computers with a high speed. We can schedule a deployment or push it on demand within seconds or minutes.

Aspetti positivi:

Automox is very easy to setup and work with. It is easy to set up groups, add devices to groups, and set up policies to patch your devices. Before Automox, I didn't have any experience with Patch Management software, but I was able to quickly jump into Automox and start creating policies to meet our needs. Automox's support is helpful and gets back to you very quickly. I've had to reach out to support a few times over the past year and they've been helpful. Also, they have a community that the developers and employees frequently monitor where you can ask questions and engage with other Automox users.

Aspetti negativi:

Automox has some limitations. Unfortunately, some output is limited. For example, when a computer is in process of updating you won't always see the exact percentage or updates it is currently working on. This can cause some confusion and can make it harder to see if theres a certain update getting stuck. I also would love to see a way to stop any sent instructions to an endpoint from our end. If I send a script that seems to error out or glitch out during testing, there is a chance that the device's status may get stuck in the "Pending Update" status until the next day when Automox automatically flushes it out. In Summary, Some of Automox's output or status visibility could be improved. The ability to stop a scan or script from finishing would also be ideal if possible.
