Using Rises software for smaller business is very cost effective.
The entire HRIS right now consists of Time Off and Employee directory (not even employee self-service right now). This is blatant misrepresentation.

Excellent value, great responsive support with live chat, terrible interface
Commenti: Simplicity for small Canadian businesses running payroll.
Aspetti positivi:
The pricing of this product is great, they were offering free payroll for organizations with less than 10 employees at one point, but now it's something that has to be requested. Great value for the services provided and live chat support is convenient. I do recommend this software to minimize the complexity of payroll functions for small businesses.
Aspetti negativi:
It is not intuitive to use. Setup is very manual, requiring the user to download pdfs, sign them and re-upload. It's not very friendly towards accountants as the client has to create their own account. Creating a payroll run requires multiple steps, and T4 submission is not automatic. One selling feature of this product was that it integrates with QuickBooks or Xero. There is no integration. There is one guy that can create an Excel macro who requires the exact details of your accounting system setup.

Still getting going but good so far
Commenti: At this point I have a lot more to learn to customize my experience as a manager but I am enjoying what I have explored so far. I like seeing scheduling, time sheets, recruiting all in one place. Excited to see how we are going to utilize it even more in the future.
Aspetti positivi:
The onboarding process has been simple and straightforward. I like that the dashboard is intuitive and is customized for what your position is, only showing you the things that you have permissions for.
Aspetti negativi:
Some of the language can be a touch ambiguous in what exactly they are asking for. Specifically I am talking about the scheduling page where it is asking for frequency and a couple other items. I noticed that I don't seem to get notifications for missed punches, which would be super useful. That being said, I haven't dug into my settings to see if there are options for this.

Commenti: It has been difficult, conflicting direction, changes and poor onboarding process, too many needs cannot be met. feels like the wrong platform for our custom business but I have to say Rise support staff and managers have gone over and above trying to support us. We acknowledge we have not been the perfect client and have issues as well, perhaps we are too needy for what rise can support

The people and support, try very hard to satisfy but unfortunately there are just too many issues that we need that cannot be accommodated.

Platform is fractured , development support is good but actual development is poor, frequent loss of resources
Great user experience
Commenti: As someone who has NEVER worked in HR and Finance, my onboarding specialist [sensitive content hidden] was amazing. She consistently checked in with me, all calls were recorded and sent to me within 24 hours. There is a lot of information to help if you have questions. [sensitive content hidden] never made me feel like I couldn't reach out to her with questions. It was the most consistent and easy onboarding I have been apart of.

Intuitive and Accessible. Great onboarding. Features well laid out and easy to navigate
Aspetti negativi:
At this time, I am happy with everything we have signed up for. There are features that I would love to implement (eg. vacation tracking) but at this stage we are trying to keep costs down.
Alternative considerate:
Great product for Canadian payroll, time tracking and schedule and HR integration
Commenti: We're super happy. We needed a more in-depoth, robust, integrated payroll and HR solution and this was perfect.

I like the scheduling and time tracking. We love the integration with Payroll. Saved SO much time as we were doing everything manually before.
Aspetti negativi:
I find it a bit overwhelming when figuring out how to set everything up - and where to go to access certain information, as some is stored in the HR section and some is stored in the Payroll section.Improvements can definitely be made in the scheduling and time tracking module. For example, the ability for other employees to see other employees schedules within the app - for more transparent shift delegation, capacity planning, shift-swapping, etc.

Commenti: The service is free and that is a great thing for small business. It is accurate and having all statutory deductions handled directly is a great assurance for compliance

The system is very easy to use. The Rise team is most responsive and offers the best in customer service. Automated reminders for payroll deadlines are very helpful for business small proprietors

What I like about Rise

The payroll is easy to use. Good customer service. Like the reminders I am getting, so never forget to process. Also, I can process it long enough before due date and it does not get posted until due date, so any changes can be made during that period.

I did not experience any Cons. The product we use works well for our company.

I find payroll easy to use and process. The customer support team has been really great when I call in and ask questions. The support is very important to me.
Aspetti negativi:
small glitches on moving from one company to another in downloading PDF files (we do payroll for 5 different companies) I like the convenience of switching over, but find that on the results page, the PDFs download. This could also by an issue on our back end. I've notified RISE on it and they will look into it for me :)
Great system that has everything
Aspetti positivi:
It was so easy to implement and use and continues to update with new features.
Aspetti negativi:
There are always quirks but Rise does a good job of fixing bugs and taking feedback for new features.

Not really, – it’s pretty user-friendly. Perhaps when doing payroll, it might be useful to have something that lets employers step through the different steps so they don’t miss anything.

Commenti: As an HR department of one, a one-stop-shop is time saving and has eliminated the need for multiple entry of data across various platforms.

Brokering a group plan for a collective of small group plans is BRILLIANT and offers a comprehensive and affordable benefits plan for small and medium sized businesses that otherwise would not be able to afford one.
Aspetti negativi:
The ATS is lacking and limited compared to its competitors in terms of functionality.
Glitchy product, poor customer care
Commenti: I used to be a big supporter of RISE, them being Canadian small business but now I am walking away as I don't think the product or support will improve. The company seems to be focused on adding new features but basic functionality that is a must-have is not working properly.
Aspetti positivi:
My organization signed up with RISE for payroll over 4 years ago. The program looks nice and simple to navigate.
Aspetti negativi:
Customer care over the last couple of years has drastically fallen. Our issues are unresolved for weeks and we have to keep following up to get answers. The program has a lot of bugs or glitches and you can't fix anything or no workarounds can be found. The reports are super basic and no setting can be saved, resulting in a lot of re-work.

Payroll solution is good. HRIS is not.
Commenti: It is clear that the company is not focusing on customer feedback in any capacity. I have escalated our very long list of concerns after 2 years and many of them seem to be complete news to development leadership. I really really wanted this to work out, and I think the company is trying, but I am not sure there is light at the end of this tunnel. There are better solutions out there for comparable cost - don't waste your time with Rise if you are looking for an HRIS. I would only recommend the payroll product.

Payroll solution works well (intermittent EHT remittance issues aside). For an Ontario-based company with under 200 salaried employees, RiseHR payroll solution does the job well. Time Off user interface and employee end-user experience has been positive - employees like the tool and find it user-friendly.
Aspetti negativi:
We did not end up with a solution that was sold to us 2 years ago. The company focus switched entirely, several times and no new features or modules have been rolled out in two long years (no Performance, no ATS, no employee Onboarding, no Pulse Surveys). Not one piece of feedback has been incorporated, some very small, obvious and painful (like being able to report time off balances for current employees only or at least have a column of status by which to sort). Their website is still advertising benefits integration and pulse surveys, none of which are actually active modules currently available. The entire HRIS right now consists of Time Off and Employee directory (not even employee self-service right now). This is blatant misrepresentation.

The integration of the wealth side could have been easier
We've been using Rise for payroll and absolutely love it

As our company has grown Rise has always been able to accommodate anything we need. I also cant say enough good things about their customer support; from their support onboarding to quickly answering any questions that come up from payroll to payroll I have always been so impressed.
Aspetti negativi:
Once a payroll has been submitted there is no way to reopen it, make changes, and resubmit. i do wish I had this ability but any time we've made a mistake or needed to make a change they have always worked with us to find a solution.

Just so you know, once you submit a payroll, you can then edit it and resubmit over and over. However, once you do the final approval, the payroll is complete. I would describe RISE an and "okay" payroll system. It is good for companies with simple payroll

user friendly, simple and intuitive to learn. flexibility of the JR report. I like the payroll input sheet and that it and all reports can be exported. running payroll is fairly simple.
Aspetti negativi:
doesn't have some feature we need for more complicated payroll. Customer service has been BAD. Customer service and software issues especially on the GL coding side. The customer service reps don't seem to have much knowledge of payroll or accounting standards and practices. often find things are set up incorrectly or they are not able to provide much assistance.

RISE are incredibly customer focused. They spent a lot of time getting to know us and our needs.
Commenti: It moved our manual processes to automated for absence tracking, employee file management and access which made we could focus internally on more strategic objectives and allowed us to provide improved customer service to our staff.
Aspetti positivi:
Ease of interface for employees including employee photos. Ability to track all types of absence. Able to upload employee documents to their employee file which they can access online 24/7 access.
Aspetti negativi:
Some initial issues with Quebec set up in relation to payroll and benefits which involved our finance staff having to do a lot of work manually which was not anticipated. This has now been resolved.

So glad we moved to Rise from ADP
Aspetti positivi:
Ease of use. When I get questions from staff, I can find the answers quickly. Great to see prior year reports all at my fingertips.
Aspetti negativi:
Doesn't connect well with Apple systems. So Rise staff need to prepare our journal entries for us. Also doesn't talk to Humanity and when choosing these 2 systems we were told that was something that would be happening.
product has improved over the last year or so. Good custom reporting options.
Aspetti positivi:
like the access to the data so we can run our own customized reports Remittances and T4 all taken care of Better now than in the past. At the beginning it felt like we were beta testing. Customer support staff seem more knowledgeable now Good follow through when we do have a problem or question
Aspetti negativi:
unexplainable glitches (ie accrued vacation pay missing for some employees on one run) Some Rise standard reports don't seem to include info needed to match the report name Lose the titles when scrolling down a page of employees. If there was a way to "freeze panes" it would be very helpful.

Great Onboarding, Great Customer Service. Great Products
Commenti: The biggest benefit is the time savings in comparison to when we used ADP and spreadsheets

Rise's payroll system is super easy to use, reports are provided within seconds of processing, and the customer support for payroll is excellent. In terms of it's Hub/Time Off system, it has been great. No more spreadsheets tracking time off or vacation days!
Aspetti negativi:
Tracking vacation days actually used in Time Off reporting can be a bit tricky when employees request, get approved, but then cancel that request.

Review Of Rise Software
Aspetti positivi:
The process for biweekly payroll, T4s and ROEs are very easy to use. T4 reconciliations have always been a breeze and on the spot. The Rise People Team [email protected] and their toll free 1-888-393-3483 & chat box are convenient avenues to get help.
Aspetti negativi:
Our accounting software is Adagio, which is rather obscure, but predominant in the Non-Profit world. There is no integration to import payroll data directly in Adagio.
