Commenti: Molteplici, basti pensare che ho realizzato un gestionale interamente con GS, provato con Excel e solo un sacco di problemi. Grazie a formule e funzioni come FILTER o Query o risolto molti problemi.

Aspetti positivi:

Formule e funzioni al top. Le Query sono super, basti pensare che è una funzione. ArrayFormula è una funzione strepitosa senza uguali, Flatten non ha uguali. Un bel layout semplice e molto funzionale, App Script facile da utilizzare e una vastità di applicazioni. Convalide dati senza doppioni e senza problema con gli spazi vuoti. Abbiamo le caselle di controllo che basta selezionare le celle e vengono inserite. Abbiamo la possibilità di inserire immagini e di poterle gestire (cerca vert, confronta, indice, filter, query...) come un qualsiasi dato! Spettacolare! Mi fermo qui! Perché investire soldi in un prodotto, quando Google c'è lo offre migliore e gratuito?

Aspetti negativi:

Alcuni bug, come la visualizzazione del menu contestuale sulle colonne, forse mi mancano le tabelle di Excel. Ma tutto sommato con la funzione ArrayFormula si risolve molto. Altro non c'è molto da dire, mi piace davvero parecchio.

Foglio di calcolo online

Commenti: Perfetto per progetti semplici che devono essere condivisi con tutti i componenti del team nell’ambito di una piccola azienda di servizi che sua la suite Google.

Il principale vantaggio è l’integrazione con la suite Google e la possibilità di gestire i fogli di calcolo direttamente online tramite interfaccia web.

Per fogli di calcolo complessi trovo che Microsoft Excel sia più adatto.

I am using google sheet to organise data, generate analytics and produce report.

Commenti: Overall I am very happy with google sheets. It helps me collect and organise data, generate reports, charts etc. And collaborate with co-workers and very easily share my sheets with friends.

Aspetti positivi:

It is very user friendly and you can share with your co-workers. It has wonderful collaboration functionalities, that multiple co-workers can view or edit the same spread sheet at the same time. And you can see it at real time. It provides data analytics functions, that let you create pivot tables to generate reports, graphs, charts, etc. I can also build forms within the sheet and creating a little programming functions to automate some tasks. It can be attached within email very easily, very well integrated with gmail.

Aspetti negativi:

I have used Microsoft Excel for a very long time. Google sheets have some different shortcuts that makes me get confused sometimes. Also when you enter url links into the cell, and I always accidentally click on it and open a web page, but I only want to edit that field. When data set is too big, it gets extremely slow and sometimes it crashes itself and won't even open. It would be nice if the performance can be improved.

Easy to use and very hepful!

Commenti: I have enjoyed the ease of using Google Sheets. More people are switching and using Google over Microsoft so it is easier to use and have others outside of the district use. It is a quick and easy way to share information, track data, and keep a log.

I love how easy it is to create different sheets. Once you figure out how to do what you need, it is easy to use again. There is a lot you can do with Google Sheets. I have used it to track data, make a schedule, take notes, and share information with other educators. I would highly recommend this to other people (even if they aren't in education.

The only thing I have come across that I have struggled with is creating functions for very specific things. I tried what others had said to do, but it didn't work. It wasn't terrible but would've been nice to have.

Keeping sheets in order with Google Sheets

The part of google sheets I like the most is the ability to obtain signatures on documents or waivers remotely.

The commenting sections in Google sheets can be deemed as unnecessary when most people in my experience will just communicate their concerns or opinions through text.

GoogleSheets are a must for co-working!

GoogleSheets live in the cloud and allow for co-working with ease. With nearly all functions of Excel, GoogleSheets permit you to store your data, sort, and communicate with your team. The added bonus of it living within your Google Drive make even the most buried sheet find-able with a quick search.

Being a part of Google's eco-system this software can be used with gmail id. It's a cloud-based spreadsheet which can be accessed by our team members from their respective systems/devices. It makes this device very easy to work with. Being a cloud-based application, it is very easy to share spreadsheets among team members.

Aspetti negativi:

Google sheets does not have the same functions as Excel in terms of formulas and technical aspects. Windows keyboard's shortcuts also doesn't work well with this software.

Commenti: overwhelming and great experience close to the excel feel with less feature but hopefully future developments will compete with the likes of Excel.

easy to use for personal and business use the greatest feature is the ability to have over 100 people working on one document at the same time with changes being capture as we type or change data. that is an amazing feature which makes team work easy and effortless.

Aspetti negativi:

only down side is that it is an online application however at least you can save documents your device , please consider create an offline application with same feature and more.

Great free alternative to Microsoft Excel

Very easy to use and share between different people. Provides all the functionality that Microsoft Excel provides but is also available for free making it a great alternative.

Aspetti negativi:

When multiple people are using the software and making changes at the same time, the page scrolls up and down with the last edit to the document. This makes it difficult for multiple people working on the same document at the same time. Alternative solution is to have one person do the editing but collaborating over the phone or through comments on the document.

I've been using Google Sheets for more than 5 years, and I'm extremely satisfied with the results. Google Sheets is a great tool but will never be Excel

Commenti: It is a great program that can be used in place of Excel when it is not available but it would be rare for me to choose Sheets over Excel, all else being equal.

I like the collaboration features and that it provides a lot of good functions for data manipulation. I also like that the pivot tables automatically update which provides a better user experience for less technical people

Try as I might, I just cannot get used to Sheets compared to Excel. I think that Excel functions are simpler and all of the menus are in more intuitive places. I can never find the filters and data format tools in Sheets when I need them because they are in different (less intuitive) places than Excel.

Very Useful and Practical Spreadsheet Program

Commenti: Overall, I use Sheets daily. It integrates flawlessly with other Google services as well as IFTTT and 3rd party workflow utilities. Google Assistant can update your spreadsheets by voice and the functionality is perfect for all of my needs. I require no other spreadsheets and I still find new functionality I wasn't aware of as I go.

Google Sheets is a cloud based browser interface software. You don't actually have to install an application in order to use it. although, unless you're on a PC or Mac you'll want to anyway just for the ease of use of the app interface. Because of the cloud base all of your documents are accessible on any device that you can sign in on with your Google account. To use the software it stores your data in a free Google drive or if you choose a paid Google One storage service. The biggest point here is that if you choose not to have the massive storage you still get plenty of free space to hold as many of your free spreadsheets as you can imagine. So you can utilize these services for no cost and have all of the base functionality that any regular business or person would require. Combine the service delivery model with the the functionality of Sheets and you've got a winning formula to tackle most if not all of your needs. You can utilize formulas, traditional row column handling, paste in graphics or use charts etc. All in all, it has every major function available that the average user could need/want.

Aspetti negativi:

The interface getting into Sheets can seem a bit clunky at times. Unless you're used to cloud based services you may find yourself frustrated desperately seeking the same button. It auto saves and you need to therefore be able to interface with the cloud to access your spreadsheet or think ahead and use the 'make available offline' option. The interface is a little different if you're coming from a Microsoft world so there will be a bit of a change you'll go through adapting.

Sheets: Can be very useful

Commenti: We used sheets to replace some of our excel spreadsheets and I think overall it was a positive. It allows far more easier access to collaboration and editing, and the ability to access a sheet virtually anywhere you have the internet is amazing (phone, computer, tablet, etc.). You can leave notes for other users, create and share new books and link them to anything else. It has made tracking certain things vastly more efficient. Sheets does lack some features that excel may offer, and some of the formulas and "control" is different but I think the ability to add custom modules is far easier and can supplement the missing features. My personal experience is automating sheets is far easier than in Excel

I am able to update things on the fly and not have to worry about version management or other people using outdated data. I also enjoy being able to access sheets virtually anywhere I have internet access which means I can review/edit sheets basically no matter where I am

Fundamental differences and missing features from excel that made the transition a little difficult. The initial conversion was probably the biggest hurdle but once those were overcome it was one of those things that I wish I had bitten the bullet and done before

Google Sheets is great for quick collaboration

Commenti: Google Sheets has helped us keep track of data across an organization of about 20 people very effectively. If it is properly setup, not everyone using it needs to understand every detail of it and it's very intuitive.

I like the fact that it's very quick and simple to setup a spreadsheet for any use, with separate pages. The ability to invite multiple people and control their permissions also enables a small business to allow everyone in on sensitive information while controlling who can edit it.

Aspetti negativi:

I wish it was a bit easier to setup formulas and functions. I have gone down quite a few online rabbit holes to figure out how to get it to do what I want, but it was rewarding when I did finally figure it out. If there was a better in-program tutorial for some of these functions that would go a long way.

Evergreen Sheets management and tabular data management software on cloud

Commenti: Using it since 2013 and it is the best and free to use app from google. Has build so many great things with Google sheets. Can't make an imagination without it.

My go-to for documentation!

Commenti: This is something that I use daily, as a replacement for a planner (the fact that I can so easily customize what I have on my study plan is a big benefit to me), as well as a tool for group work on the biostatistical analysis of data. It is something that is highly customizable to what you need (hence my two vastly different methods of using it), and keeps your laptop from slowing down due to either 1) large program use or 2) high amount of storage.

Aspetti positivi:

As a student, there is a lot of group work that goes into different projects, especially when learning about biostatistics and other classes where complex data-driven mathematics must be done. Google sheets allow for team collaboration in the simplest way possible. Also, its a very seamless software. When compared to Excel, it does not glitch at all (whereas on my computer, because excel is such a large program, it often slows down other apps if I am multitasking, or freezes up itself). Lastly, it also frees up a lot of storage on your device! Since none of the sheets are actually stored on your computer, it won't take up memory (and is simple to retrieve, either through your google drive or through the google sheets website)

Aspetti negativi:

The amount of formulas and programs that it has is slightly less than excel, and if you are working in a research lab then exporting data from google sheets to a statistical analysis program may not be compatible (since many of them require to excel as a source for data). However, if you are just looking for a simple datasheet, then this would not even be a problem for you.

All the Data Functions You Need

Aspetti negativi:

Google sheets isn't a direct mirror of some of the more expensice spreadsheet software, but it has all the basic functions needed to run my business with ease. The feature that I miss the most from other software is the ability to sum multiple columns at once. Having to sum columns individually is more time consuming, and yet still easier and more accurate than doing them by hand.

Forget Excel

Commenti: Love it! I really love how groups of people can edit the Sheets, and that Google tracks all the changes so you can go back and see who added what.

This FREE software has become my go-to for all things spreadsheet. I do my billing on here, track my expenses, and run out possible financial scenarios (planning to buy a house... takes a lot of planning!).

Aspetti negativi:

Like any software, not everything translates perfectly, but I did just import all my dad's contacts from Quickbooks to a CSV file, and Google Sheets handled everything exactly right. That's not always the case, but that's the hazard of any program. I still don't understand the keyboard shortcuts like I did in the old days of Excel, but the online tutorials you can search for will pretty much solve whatever action you need to make in Sheets.
