We Love GiveButter!
Commenti: Super easy verification and startup - found all of the educational videos super helpful. The on-going improvements keep me on my toes and seems almost intuitive.

Affordable for small non-profits looking for an affordable upgrade
Commenti: Really positive. It's easy to use, affordable, looks super sleek, and has resulted in an increase in donations for our organization because people don't get navigated to a 3rd party site.
Aspetti positivi:
Givebutter is easy to use and integrate into your Wordpress site so the donors never have to leave your site. They also allow you to set goals and have teams to raise money for campaigns. Fees can also be picked up by donors with making it very clear that if they don't a certain percentage of their donation gets eaten up by transaction fees. This has resulted in roughly 90% of our donors picking up the fee charge. Givebutter also is integrated with Stripe, so the transaction reports are super simple to run.
Aspetti negativi:
The feature generating thank you letters from the system is lacking something, but all the rest of the features are easy to use, so this isn't a deal breaker for my organization. It just won't replace your current donor software for tracking and providing thank you letters and emails.

Their ticket sales features says donations and doesn't look like a ticketing platform so patrons are often confused if they are donating or buying tickets. I also don't like that too much info is on the ticketing page that patrons don't normally see when buying tickets on traditional platforms

Commenti: Excellent. I have been very happy since I made the switch from another platform. The free functionality is great and I have upgraded as well on the free trial and will likely purchase the upgrade prior to my next campaign as it has additional functionality I liked.

It's EASY to use - doesn't require a lot of training and if you do need to figure something out - the chats and tutorials work will. It's intuitive and not overbuilt while having all the basic functions a fundraiser needs to manage their donors and activities.
Aspetti negativi:
The only con is creating hard copy/mailed letters isn't an available function. However, on other platforms - this isn't the easiest either and I just have a work around for this.

Commenti: Our experience has been excellent especially since we are using the no-cost portion and now wish we had not purchased this other CRM system and just gone with give butter!!

This program is so user friendly, allows for our own creativity as we promote our events. It also seamlessly connects all the pieces of fundraising together which includes the communications, marketing, auctions, event creation, data collection etc. It also is superb at point of contact fundraising. We also use another system for CRM which is no where near as proficient at the nuts and bolts fundraising.

The team we worked with to get setup has been consistently friendly, courteous, quick to respond, and very helpful with answering our questions and fulfilling our needs.

Commenti: Overall, it has been a very positive experience. The platform has helped us reach a wider audience during fundraising campaigns while offering donors multiple ways to contribute. We especially appreciate the event creation feature for making RSVP pages for our community events. Though many of these events are free for community members, we've noticed that the platform enables participants to make small contributions when submitting their RSVPs. This feature provides a wonderful opportunity for community members who have the means to give back.

Givebutter is great!

Coming from Salesforce, Givebutter is powerful due to its simplicity. It can do everything we need it to do without making you feel like you need a data engineering degree and ten years of experience.
Aspetti negativi:
I'm not the biggest fan of how they've worded their solicitation messages for our donors. They ask donors to help take on the cost of running the platform, but they call it a "tip," which is distasteful and dishonest. If I were them, I would just be upfront and call it a fee. Tip suggests that a human helped serve them, and carries a bit of guilt with it.

The Best There Is!
Commenti: Givebutter is simply the best platform for small nonprofits. I have worked in nonprofit organizations for years, ranging from millions, to hundreds, to thousands of donors. I have worked with 3 large, well known donor databases, and Givebutter still comes out on top. I started working for a small organization in 2023 that had absolutely no donor database of any kind. After much research on the biggest donor database platforms, I landed on Givebutter; not only is the platform FREE (yes, FREE), but it does absolutely everything my organization needs. Givebutter allowed me to completely change the way the nonprofit saw fundraising and allowed me to streamline the organization's events in no time. Thanks to Givebutter's platform, I was able to increase the overall funds raised at our signature fundraising event by 20%. As a team of one person, that is absolutely game changing!

What I like most about Givebutter is its unbelievably simple user experience. Learning all of Givebutter's incredible features was extremely easy, and they provide all of the resources you could possibly ever need. Should a resource ever not be available, their customer service is some of the best I have ever seen, with a human being able to answer my questions within minutes.

There are small features that Givebutter doesn't have that I have experienced on other platforms (e.g. Sponsor RSVP). However, Givebutter is still young; they are working to improve their platform every day, and any recommendations for features that I have are added to a forum where other users can vote for the feature if they believe it would be beneficial to them. Most features that would be most beneficial are already in the works to be implemented, and I know that any new features I recommend will be taken into full consideration.

Good straightforward product, nuance still needed
Commenti: The onboarding experience was good. You can figure out how to make it work for you in most circumstances. I think it has a lot of potential to grow and expand its functionality. I appreciate the roadmap and feedback model the company employs.
Aspetti positivi:
1) I like the embeddable forms and the ticketing. 2) The back-end admin experience is fairly clean and straightforward. 3) I love that it has card readers and tap to pay. 4) I like that it accepts digital wallets.
Aspetti negativi:
1) Creation of Forms: There's no differentiation between sales forms and donate forms, eg, if I have an event that is selling tickets, hosting an auction, and asking for donations, I can't choose to create a form for donations and a separate form for tickets, it's automatically a ticket form, with option to donate. I can't turn off the option to donate, and if I want to just ask for donations I need to create a new campaign. On a similar note, auctions don't have an embeddable form option. 2) Embedded Forms: Once they're embedded, they can be kind of laggy, at least on my squarespace site. The page will load, and then the form. 3) User Types: Not a whole lot of difference between admin and editor users. I wish there was some kind of volunteer user where you can control what campaigns they have access to and allows them to use the app and card reader.

Supporting Community one event at a time!
Commenti: So far I have loved the customer support and service every step of the way. Any concerns are met with answers in a very timely manner and support is always so proactive not reactive. I get regular check ins and the personal touch is unmatched.

I loved that for the first time ever we had a platform that was able to allow us to keep track of a community event. With costs of platform fees it’s been impossible to add that expense to a free event. The ability to collect data from attendees and offer them the convenience to support while at a free event was so impactful.

I would like the ability to sell items at a preset price. For example if we wanted to sell popcorn to a community member each item would’ve had to have shown as a donation. Looking forward to more “day of event functions” in the future.

A unique take on donor management and online giving
Commenti: I have a highly positive experience with Givebutter. Their support and staff are highly responsive and the appear committed to continuously improving their product. They have an impressive number of features for a "free" system and what minor inconveniences there are I can definitely live with considering how much I'm saving buy using their platform.

Givebutter's major selling point is that they do not charge anything for the use of their system. Givebutter is free forever for our non-profit. In a world where every other platform is charging based on the number of contacts in your database this is a game changer for us! This means we can use our Donor Management system as our primary CRM as well, at no additional cost. I also love that they include a robust texting and email communication system. Making communicating with our donors a breeze. Finally they seem committed to continuously improving their platform, adding new features regularly. I love this from a "free" system!

Because they are free for our ministry to use they ask your donors to make an additional donation to Givebutter on all webforms. It's possible to decline, but it's not easy, and the suggested amounts seem quite high. I cannot tell if that has put people off of donating to us or not. The alternative is to pay a flat %1 fee on every online donation which means that donors will never see the option to donate to Givebutter, but effectively means Givebutter is not a free system and the costs go up directly in proportion to the amount we make. TL;DR it's complicated. At the present time Admins cannot edit or adjust a recurring donor's amounts or date of donation. The only option is to cancel a donation and have the donor restart their recurring donation on the date they want it to recur.

Commenti: We really like the event page options, and ease of use. And all the different ways to pay, plus text to donate, QR codes and more! And we have a free program. This is exceptional. People have liked donating on the platform.

People doing events are having trouble seeing everything for their event, even though I have invited them to have access. The Givebutter card reader that I was sent last year, and software is really dependent on someone having Samsung or Apple phones, and the latest models, not other brands of android. This is a challenge. I am not sure how to have matching donors, or recurrent donors.

Commenti: Givebutter was simple on the backend and allowed us to have as painless of an experience fundraising as possible. I liked the ease of being able to just input our tax information and we are ready to go, presto! It was cool to see all the comments coming in as we raised money.

We chose givebutter for several reasons but one of my favorite things is that we could see how much each team member was achieving with donations. Since we were two relay teams, the competition was fierce and givebutter helped us stay motivated and interested in fundraising!

Who likes fees? I also wish it were easier to integrate with other social media, like Instagram and Facebook. We just used a link but if there was a button or something that made it "intuitive" to share, that would be great! Without that kind of integration, it makes it hard for the campaign to spread like wildfire.

Pleased with our switch
Commenti: We switched from Classy to Give Butter and are very pleased with the ease of using it. We especially like the support that Givebutter gives, as well as the webinars.

Great suite of easy to use features - with some caveats

I have loved the easy setup, the easy access to in person support, and how much is included in the free version - especially the ability to create different types of campaigns, make different fund selections available, and add custom fields to our donor database.
Aspetti negativi:
The two biggest issues we have had are these: 1. the *optional* fees to our donors do not always appear optional and require several clicks to remove - we eventually elected to pay a fee for GiveButter in order to remove the fee suggestion to our donors who were growing offput. - And 2. I was surprised and disappointed that GiveButter does not have the ability to "soft credit" a donor who gives through some type of investment account, which is a common way for many people to give. This has complicated things for us significantly.

The program let us down in the middle of our event!

Great for schools and smaller teams - powerful, inexpensive, and easy-to-use!
Commenti: Great, it's been good and getting better since I've used it. It gets the job done, and is in a sweet spot where it has powerful features but is also simple enough to be easy to use.

The best parts about Givebutter are ease of use, the variety of features offered, constant updates to add better quality-of-life improvements to fundraisers, responsive support, low fees, basically every payment method you could want, and lots of software integration options.
Aspetti negativi:
These aren't all necessarily cons for our organization, but I think that givebutter is very well-suited to small teams and small-to-moderate fundraising campaigns(<$1M). If you're doing larger fundraisers you can use to supplement your activities, but its strength is more in handling online donations, auctions, etc., things with less specialized software requirements.

Don't use Givebutter!

The interface of the event website is really great. Our constituents like it and we've got great feedback that it looks nice and was easy to use

There are so many ways this didn't work for us. We signed up for the hybrid auction/event capabilities, and that it was free. However there are so many glitches that come up. For instance, in creating our ticket options for sales, we created a Ticket Bundle- 8 tickets for a discount. However, when someone makes that purchase they didn't create any way (we've reached out about it several times...) for this purchase to verify 8 attendees; it registers as 1 attendee. So we can't use their check in system built into the ticket sales because it's not accounting for multiple people! SO WE'VE HAD TO CREATE AN RSVP SPREADSHEET, a total nightmare, and transfer all rsvps via the website to the spreadsheet to account for actual bodies/attendees. Additionally, as I mentioned before, I chose this platform for the Hybrid/online auction capabilities. However this also became a nightmare to deal with. There is no way for a ticket sale to assign a bid number automatically. So if guests want to bid, they have to sign up ADDITIONALLY ON THEIR OWN for a givebutter account, register their cc information, verify that through their personal email, then re-login to Givebutter to bid. This is THE BIGGEST BARRIER TO GIVING! We are now not even doing an online auction. Can you imagine going to an event, being told you have to login to a site, create an account, enter your cc info, check your email then log back into the site to bid? Would you even try?? Also we were told our transfer would be seamless with recurring/monthly donor plans because we already had a Stripe account and that's what Givebutter uses. We were obviously thrilled we could switch platforms and not have any interruption with our donors! However they use Stripe Express, which is actually DIFFERENT than a regular Stripe account. So if you're already using a Stripe account you'll have to get ANOTHER Stripe Express account that doesn't include important information about your constituents you already have in Stripe, like their customer ID numbers, cc info and more. Also- we were going to move our CRM over. They said their support team would be really helpful in this regard, that we would have unlimited email tech support. However they have no sample CRM to look at or try. YOU HAVE TO BUILD OUT YOUR OWN CRM, taking any and every field from a platform you already use and create an excel etc that includes every field and somehow they will help you build your own platform. Their tech support for this was nowhere near what we needed in order to complete let alone start this. They basically point you to different videos they have so you can learn to code etc yourself. Do not recommend based on current experience. I know they are always looking for recommendations to get better but the above seem pretty basic to include for auctions/events to offer this service. We are having to DOUBLE our platforms and efforts to get through this event since we launched it and learned later how incapable it was of handling basic event needs. Don't make the same mistake we did.

If you're looking for a fundraising platform that's user-friendly, even for those of us who aren't super tech-savvy, GiveButter is a fantastic choice! Setting up pages was a breeze, and I was pleasantly surprised by how intuitive the entire process was. Plus, the GiveButter support team is absolutely top-notch—responsive, helpful, and always there when you need them. GiveButter Bootcamp was amazing and changed the game for our Justice Day campaign. GiveButter was just the platform I was seeking to help grow our online annual fund campaign.

While GiveButter is generally user-friendly and intuitive, I have encountered some challenges with syncing donations through Zapier into Little Green Light. This particular aspect isn't as seamless as the rest of the platform, and I'm still struggling to figure this out.

Givebutter is a Must for Fundraising Newbies

Very user friendly with awesome customer support & chat features. Low to no cost upon startup. Great workshops/webinars. Constantly making updates, listening to user feedback, and improving the app. LIVE FUNDRAISING PAGE!!!!
Aspetti negativi:
Can't design custom tickets. Not enough personalization options in fundraising campaigns. No custom URL option to hide the givebutter.com domain - the URL kinda freaks people when they read "givebutter" the name.
