There was quite a few 'back of the house' errors that happened as our program was set up that we encountered as I was trying to process payroll.

As a small business owner it's nice to have tailored customer service. They are extremely helpful any time I have to call them with questions or concerns.

The onboarding process took a little longer that I would like, but afterwards it was smooth sailing from there.

Proliant review
Commenti: Our needs have outgrown the Proliant system.
Aspetti positivi:
It is very basic, uncomplicated. The reps are nice.
Aspetti negativi:
We have very little control over anything in the system. Many updates (i.e. terminations, updates to GL-related reports) require tickets to be submitted to Proliant support teams rather than allowing us to make the updates ourselves. The turn around time for Proliant support varies widely from a day to several months.

Easy To Use HRIS With A Budget Friendly Focus
Commenti: Proliant is an overall efficient HRIS suite that can deliver on a budget.
Aspetti positivi:
Proliant features a suite of easy to use HRIS. The implementation is not a long an drawn out process based on my experience and business size. The price is in line with the features.
Aspetti negativi:
Some services that Proliant offers are sub-par and can use better customer service. We use the full tax services that Proliant offers and though the services are full-filled, the customer services of the tax team is lacking. Takes multiple queries to receive a response and the response time is below par. Next is the Attendance On Demand time keeping module, this is by far my least favorite or I should say the worst part about Proliant's HRIS. If you are looking for a simple but dated time keeping system then you should have no issues. But if you are looking for a technically up-to-date system to track time, manage time keeping, and have real time analytics then this is not the one for you.

We made the move to Proliant at the recommendation of our accountant and my only complaint is that we didn't make the change sooner. Our account manager is fantastic, and I believe we are receiving excellent ROI. Mid-year integration in 2021 was seamless and we haven't had any issues.

Best Decision to Outsource Payroll to Proliant
Commenti: We've been with Proliant for almost 10 years. Having Proliant take care of our bi-weekly payroll is great, but them filing our quarterly payroll taxes and yearly W2 forms is absolutely wonderful! It has eliminated my dealing with these tedious tasks and freed up my valuable time to work on various other office responsibilities.

Easily integrated with our company's timekeeping system. I simply upload the time punches each pay period then make any necessary adjustments (vacation time, sick days, etc.), submit and Proliant takes it from there!
Aspetti negativi:
I want to explore some of the other features of the Payroll processing system, especially PTO tracking. I do this myself outside of Proliant now but feel it may be easier to track within Proliant's system.

Aspetti positivi:
The Proliant product is easy to use and features are very applicable. There are many features to create reports and follow up. Always updating their site to stay ahead of the curve.
Aspetti negativi:
Sometimes their updates move icons around and you have to locate them or call Proliant. Such as adding an employee is found under employee events, but to terminate an employee you have to go the actual employee. These changes on a regular basis can be a little frustrating.
Pros & Cons
Commenti: Our Rep is great to work with & improvements have been made with him also being our T&L Rep as well as our Proliant RPO Rep. A challenge has been the systems (RPO/Onboarding/BSwift/Reports/Time & Labor) all working together smoothly.

Tracking accruals in Time & Labor. Having one Rep to work with his helpful.

Time & Labor: Would like to see the Leave Requests under each company code (we have 9) instead of in one list (have asked our Rep). More importantly, would like for timeclocks to not allow any more changes when they are approved/locked - changes can still be made to previous pay period. Would also like to make adjustments to archived timecards for PBJ reporting purposes (only done by Admin) RPO - Report/analytics could use improvements in all areas - report system is not great! Implementation programmers were not consistent with implementation set up. When Upgrades are done in system, we generally have issues the next day..... things that were working no longer work as they should.
Good Payroll Solution

We have had an overall good experience with Proliant after implementation which was very difficult for us.
It takes much less time to process payroll now that we have electronic timekeeping and can draw funds from more than one bank account.
Aspetti positivi:
I like that it is mostly intuitive and user friendly for someone who is technically challenged. I like the NovaTime solution for time and labor...much better than AOD, which was horrible.
Aspetti negativi:
I do not like that RPO and NovaTime are separate systems...would really like one integrated system. It is very difficult to get employees set up to track hours on their phone. The process to link RPO and NovaTime is complicated and not intuitive. Report writing is not intuitive.
Proliant Review

Overall I like Proliant a lot compared to the other payroll companies I have used in the past.
I love the fact that I can always talk to the same person and if I have a question it gets answered right away and I don't have to call 10 times and talk to a different person each time and my problem never gets resolved like it was with my previous payroll companies, and if I leave a message my calls get returned in a timely manner.

The easiness of using it. Once you learn how it works it's easy to find what I need and to input payroll, as well as put in deductions for my employees.
Aspetti negativi:
The reports for work comp audit could be easier to find and use. I always have trouble making sure I'm not sending in the wrong dates for the audit from year to year. What makes it hard is the date of the checks versus the dates worked in that period, to make sure it lines up from year to year without overlapping. I don't want to pay work comp double because of sending the wrong dates.

Commenti: Implementation was well-guided and training was helpful. It's not the most intuitive software I have ever used, but it's not difficult

Excel time sheets are a thing of the past, and we enjoy a timekeeping system that integrates with payroll. The Proliant set up team worked with us to track both grants and activities, which makes payroll accounting much easier. W2s and pay stubs are available for employees to access in the same system where they enter time, and they are able to make changes to their benefits allocations in the system.

The help features are not that helpful. There is a library of topics, but it is nearly impossible to navigate. The multi-factor authentication also makes me a little nuts. Because my browser is set to limit cookies, I have to log in, get a code from my email, then answer three questions every time I log in. No other site I visit is as rigorous. I understand that there is a lot of sensitive data, but might appreciate an MFA app like Salesforce uses.

Commenti: I started using Proliant 6 years ago with a different company. I have since implemented Proliant in 2 other companies. The implementation has always been smooth. Proliant team is knowledgeable, professional and efficient. I can always find what reports I need in the report options, and if I can't, my support team is always willing to help build a custom report. Onboarding is a god send. Super easy for the administrators as well as the employees. Overall from start to finish, Proliant has everything we need. Payroll, Onboarding, HR functions, Document Storage.

I love how user friendly it is. If you don't know something about the system, you can pretty much use the help/training to figure it out. If not there is always personalized support. I also love how responsive the Proliant team is. If there is ever something I need, I hear back the same day and get a very quick turnaround time.
Aspetti negativi:
Additional State Specific HR laws. Also Industry Specific laws/regulations.

Commenti: Proliant's service team is fantastic. Other systems I have used do not respond promptly and are much less helpful when they do respond.

My Proliant experience

I believe that the rather uncomplicated ease all features are imperative to my job duties.Once i used it for a while it becomes second nature.

I can't really think of much except waiting for weeks to hear back from the tax department when having an issue.

Simplified my payroll and HR

Proliant Review
Commenti: Although there are alot of cons with Proliant, TL and Benefit Admin, the software is a tool that helps us run our business to the best of its ability. However, I would not or will not recommend this software to anyone until there is a better communication between all three parts of the software meaning Ready Pay, Time and Labor and Benefit Admin can all sync accordingly and correctly when an Admin make updates or changes within the system. I should not have to go in all three areas to update what I just put in one

Proliant has several pros such as: the ease of using payroll, the ease of using ESS, the ease of employee self service. I love on the Adminstrator side the ability to use the Notification feature to communicate important information to the entire company or the ability to just notify one person.
Aspetti negativi:
Cons: Proliant and Time and Labor do not sync properly, Time and Labor is a whole nighmare itself and you can never get help in resolving anything in it so you just deal with it. You can go in TL and change something and go back in it 30 mins later after the system syncs and it reverts itself back to what it was. When we reported this we were told well you dont have to worry about that it doesnt go anywhere anyway, YES it does it notifies the Executive of the Company who is getting all these notifications. We change it again and the next day its right back where it was. Than it has new hires who are Parttime reverting to Fulltime, so you have to go in and change that. When we an admin is no longer with the company and we terminate them in Prolaint it doesnt sync to TL so we have to email someone to terminate them when we should be able to terminate them as an Admin. We should have more freedom as HR to terminate or add where needed.
Proliant - Wonder Why You Didn't Switch Earlier
Commenti: I don't have to worry that the software will be unreliable. That takes a huge burden off. There are never any lock ups, so you never have to worry that payroll will be processed. The software works how you expect it to. The client representative and help that is available when we reach out, makes working with the Proliant software a pleasure. The team is knowledgeable and available - those two aspects make an unbeatable difference.

It has great features. It is easy to use. It has a nice interface. It is extensive in it's capacity to fulfill various needs.

When you are busy, if you don't know of a report that could work for a new need, it takes some trial and error to find the right one. But that is more an issue of user knowledge, not the software.
Customizable and Affordable

Some of the employee settings during onboarding are not easy to find due to infrequent use by a small employer with light turnover. The system is very thorough with lots of features and controls so it does take some experience and use over time to become an "expert" user. Designing a way to simplify these would be beneficial to small employers that do not experience a lot of turnover.
