Informazioni su Amazon RDS
Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) semplifica la configurazione, il funzionamento e il ridimensionamento dei database tra cui Aurora, MySQL e PostgreSQL
Amazon RDS is easy to use relational database service as it is managed by Amazon.
The fact that the database will start from a stopped state after 7 days is particularly annoying. This could be remedied by using lambda to shut it down, but that's added work.

Ámazon RDS is a great option if you need a remote database
Commenti: My experience with Amazon RDS was great because i could easily establish remote connection to it. It was fast the data retrieval was fast, it is reliable and it is not expansive for what it is providing.
Aspetti positivi:
I like some of the things the most about amazon RDS no 1 obviously the pricing it is amazing you only get charged for your usage and then secondly the remote connection although it is not very easy but when you establish it like for example with your microsoft workbench then there is nothing better than Amazon RDS and then there is more good things for example this is very very secure and fast and reliable
Aspetti negativi:
The only thing i do not like about is it is very very hard if you are not a Database administrator this is probably harder for you maybe you need some extra exclusive study of it
Overall Good Experience
Aspetti positivi:
RDS giving lot of features with better performance.
Aspetti negativi:
Doing setup become little bit difficult.
Review
Aspetti positivi:
Convenient and smooth process for usage. .
Aspetti negativi:
A lot of red tape to get set up to get started
Scalable & Reliable But Hard To Configure
Commenti: It provides seamless database management but limited control over configurations.
Aspetti positivi:
It supports multiple database engines like PostgreSQL, Aurora, and MySQL
Aspetti negativi:
It is costly for high performance workloads and complex while setting up in multi AZ deployments.
Amazon RDS
Commenti: Amazon RDS is a reliable and convenient managed database service. It is great for automation and scaling, but it lacks deep customization and fine-tuned control.
Aspetti positivi:
Amazon RDS simplifies database management with automated backups, scaling, and maintenance, reducing operational overhead.
Aspetti negativi:
Compared to self-managed databases, there is limited customization and control, especially for configurations and performance tuning.
Simple, Reliable, and Ready-to-Use Database Solution
Aspetti positivi:
One of the best thing about it is that no configuration & setup required in order to work with any database, it could be relational or non relational DB eg: MySQL, MongoDB, SQL or Oracle anything with just few clicks on aws console we can start working.
Aspetti negativi:
There are no major issue but pricing model comparison to on premise setup is costly & cluster updates sometimes delay the business operation & any production deployment.

Amazon RDS review
Aspetti positivi:
Amazon RDS is easy to use .It helps to maintain the relational database in the cloud. Also it’s flexible and secure to use.
Aspetti negativi:
It has higher cost compared to other softwares. And also we can only increase the allocated storage in Amazon RDS we can’t reduce it.
Simple way to set up and run MySQL workloads in the cloud
Commenti: Overall we are very pleased with RDS for MySQL and it have proved a good solution for running MySQL in the cloud.
Aspetti positivi:
RDS for MySQL provides an easy and simple way to set up and run MySQL servers on AWS cloud without having to setup EC2 machines. It supports easy scale-up options and can work with replication for your DRP. There is also a very nice console to monitor performance and slow-running queries, which is very handy.
Aspetti negativi:
There is no way to easily down-scale servers and you have to configure backup yourself.
ARDS review
Commenti: Everything with Amazon RDS is smooth and effortless.
Aspetti positivi:
It is a thorough database management systemd.
Aspetti negativi:
Being new presented several challenges which eventually we were able to receive guidance.
RDS is just a necessity
Aspetti positivi:
Provides all the basic features that we absolutely need, out of the box. Super helpful
Aspetti negativi:
Since it's an AWS service, it's just not very intuitive to get around with - just like any other AWS products.
Best to use
Aspetti positivi:
Eaay to handle, and search. Eaay to understand
Well performing database
Aspetti positivi:
RDS is a highly scalable database and it can scale up or down depending on the resource and workloads it has and it works smoothly even for high data volumes and increased traffic. It automatically backs up data and we can restore our data even if we lost it. This is a highly available db because it automatically stores data in another availability zone and if a failure happens, then the primary database will be replaced with that replica.
Aspetti negativi:
With our application requirement, we have to choose the supported db engine. That db engine running inside RDS has some limitations other than running it in our machine. So that is the drawback I see.
Good db service from amazon
Aspetti positivi:
It is scalable, we tried it on different projects, small and big and it performed well. With just a few clicks, you can easily add or remove database instances, adjust computing resources, and automatically scale your database as your application grow.
Aspetti negativi:
One bad thing is that developers have limited control over the underlying infrastructure and configuration.
Flexible and reliable data base suite on the cloud
Commenti: It's up to our expectations and in many ways surpasses what an on premise database can give you
Aspetti positivi:
Easy deployment Easy management and monitoring Affordable price
Aspetti negativi:
Lack of replication options It do not have a scheduler to keep a replica updated at a desired time
Amazon RDS - Keeping it simple & easy
Commenti: Overall very satisfied. It worked for our use case.
Aspetti positivi:
Easy to setup and running. All cloudwatch metrics made available like other AWS services. Ability to take snapshots, scale up horizontally and vertically across environments and depending upon load. We were able to automate our build and deployments using terraform scripts. Automated Backups are stored in S3 so you can retrieve backups when needed. Pay as you go like traditional EC2 metered cost model. You can predict your montly/yearly estimates before hand. It just works! Supports a wide range of DB's - PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, etc.
Aspetti negativi:
Security setup may take time as its controlled by security groups. So it takes time to troubleshoot if you are not able to connect from local or any other remote instance. Pricing may start to increase when you upgrade your instance types and add replication nodes etc.
Great Database option for the cloud if you want fine-grained instance management
Commenti: Overall Amazon RDS has been a very good solution in our switch to the cloud. Other options have come out that may be better for most people, such as Amazon Aurora, but it's great for fine-grained control over instances.
Aspetti positivi:
Amazon RDS has worked really well for us for our cloud DB solution. It's pretty intuitive and easy to use, and you can choose exactly what instances sizes, storage sizes, etc. you want.
Aspetti negativi:
Amazon RDS has a strange method for determining how many IOPS you get (Input/Output Operations per Second): it's based mostly on your db storage size. So if you have a smaller database that is hit a lot, you can get throttled with the IOPS. But if you have a large database that isn't hit as often, you end up having a lot of unused IOPS.
Easy to use Rdbms Service
Commenti: As a part of e-learning training, we are using rds to make students learn how to fetch data from RDBMS to pandas which are also very simple In that
Aspetti positivi:
Auto Scaling and high availability features are impressive, and it is effortless andtakes around 10 minutes to set it up. It also has a free tire service so that students can try it for learning purposes. But we need a database manager to connect it to the client's computer.
Aspetti negativi:
Sometimes security groups create issue due to with it will get some problems with connectivity.
Easiest database management there is
Commenti: Peace of mind if it's about database administration, backup and availability.
Aspetti positivi:
It's fully managed database service with multiple database types available (Amazon Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server) - you can chose whatever you like or used to run. It's really easy to migrate from existing database of the same type. RDS is highly available and durable service if you chose to run in multi AZ (multiple availability zone/datacenter) scenario (master/slave replication). Amazon will do all the administration task like upgrades or failover for you. Max database storage size is 16 TB (in most cases) and you pay only for what you use.
Aspetti negativi:
It'a a little pricey and not all advance database configuration/administratio options are available if you compare it to on premise deployment.
Amazon RDS : High uptime and faster processing in-cloud database management
Commenti:
Amazon RDS is very reliable and easy to use it support various types of databases including widely used MySQL and others like Postgres, aurora without worrying the infrastructure.
IT is very easy to migrate from existing or new database also it has helped us to avoid downtime with Multi-AZ setup.
Aspetti positivi:
1. RDS is very fast and feasible to fetch and manage the data. 2. Version are dynamic and can be chosen/changed through simple steps. 3. Restriction can be easily managed through subnets and security groups. 4. It has high uptime overcoming downtime and can be scaled easily.
Aspetti negativi:
1. Some time for the beginners it is not easy to setup or manage. 2. Pricing is bit high if you are creating a small instance DB. 3. Integrations with 3rd party is quite a bit complex. 4. No fully admin controls are given to manage the DB.
RDS for Distributed Services
Commenti: I use RDS every day across a number of products. It's always been my go-to for a managed database service.
Aspetti positivi:
RDS is highly available, easy to scale and extremely customisable. Whether I want to set up a small MySQL database or a PostgreSQL instance to be run at scale, RDS is my first port of call.
Aspetti negativi:
RDS can start to get pricey as the instance sizes increase. For most consumers with relatively optimised database queries, this would not be an issue - but for those that have not aligned their applications for efficiency, this could be problematic.
RDS is awsome!
Aspetti positivi:
As a sysadmin, I working with many databases and tools related to this. I could say that RDS is a great service, that allows your team to focus on business, letting Amazon manages your database for you. I also appreciate pay on demand, and the facility to upgrade environments.
Aspetti negativi:
I could say that I like every aspect of this product, but if I should say some negative aspect. I would say that price on America/Sao_Paulo is a bad aspect, but I know that isn't RDS problem but the cost of my country.
I use RDS for my Mysql deployment on amazon and it works 100% uptime with no failure rates
Commenti: Compared to EC2 deployed database I prefer RDS for its absolute stability
Aspetti positivi:
Almost 100% uptime very reliable compared to own installation of mysql on EC2, auto backup, auto update etc are seamless and very stable product, aurora is a very promising technology for scalability too
Aspetti negativi:
Not much the parameter groups UI is kind of stinks and has some default parameters configured is not good, for eg: definer statements need to be removed before uploading data/stureture from backups
Amazon RDS is cheapest database service i have used so far
Commenti: The benefit we got from using RDS is that we have full control of the RDS instance. Unlike heroku RDS allows me to create any number of databases i want plus it provides 20 GB of PostgresSQL instance in its free tier
Aspetti positivi:
Amazon RDS provides arelational database instance that you can use to create any number to databases. All data are stored in SSD that provides faster read and write compared to conventional magnetic disk. Data can be secured by applying a security group such that the database can get request from within AWS (EC2 servers). RDS provides variety of databases each with their free tier.
Aspetti negativi:
Prices to enable multi availability zones for an instance is just double to their singe availability zone. It is too costly. For beginner the set up of RDS is quite confusing. Sometimes It doesn't display the estimated price of while setting up resources of an instance.
General review about Amazon RDS
Commenti: The biggest benefit using this software at my current project is the simplicity of setting up a database in the cloud without the need of manual set up.
Aspetti positivi:
It has an easy setup for creating new database connections, it's very flexible regarding creation of snapshots and recoveries, easy to scale as needed, It has the ability to create replication in simple steps.
Aspetti negativi:
By far it has met my needs, so I have no concerns about this software.
Helpful for a startup
Commenti: Saved a lot of time when bootstrapping my startup
Aspetti positivi:
- This is a good choice, if you want to get a relational database server immediately up and running - No operations or maintenance overhead - Good security features, easy to configure them up - Scheduled backups/failovers is very easy to setup
Aspetti negativi:
- Slightly expensive - Other than that it offers exactly what you expect from a managed db and more
