Streamlinec communications for the multi-preneur

Commenti: As a user with multiple projects for multiple enterprises going at the same time, I found myself missing communications or misplacing threads because of the sheer volume. Postbox has helped me to better navigate the deluge of email communications that I receive, and to filter what is necessary to focus on now and what can be stored away. I appreciate the tagging and image search features especially.

The ability to combine all of my email inboxes intelligently, with deep search and filtering capabilities that help me to not miss anything from my various projects.

Would love to be able to extend these functionalities to my iOs devices

Postbox review

Commenti: My overall experience with Postbox is good. I really like the way it looks and the way it functions.

Aspetti positivi:

Postbox is very easy to use. I am sure it has more features that I haven't found yet. I replaced Outlook with Postbox and I am so happy I did. It is easy to use and has so many themes and features. So user friendly and didn't cost an arm and a leg to purchase.

Aspetti negativi:

So far I really haven't found that many things I don't like about the software. I still need to work with it a bit more. Perhaps more items in the tool bar (eg.) Priority options in sending mail.

Only a limited version of Thunderbird with better design

Commenti: Until version 5, the mail client was still worth its money. Today with version 7 I wouldn't buy it again because I get Thunderbird for free which is much more customizable thanks to the support of extensions. In addition, I noticed that the Thunderbird client on which the software is based is certainly not up to date because I get for Thunderbird here much more often updates which also affect the security.

Aspetti positivi:

The design is currently the only positive thing I noticed about the software. Otherwise there are not really many positive things about this mail client.

Aspetti negativi:

It is not possible to use extensions. No external spam filters possible. Some of the features like "preferred topics" do not work as expected. The folder management is more than cumbersome.

Clean and nice Email client to keep productivity up

Aspetti positivi:

The clearly and logical structured user interface that never leaves you wondering where the function you are looking for might be hidden.The wonderful filter by contacts is one of those great features of Postbox... if not the best!

Aspetti negativi:

Difficult to say... maybe the lack of a powerful spam filter in the default setup. But that's nothing that can't be fixed. I'm still happy with my selection.

Overall good product but with a few annoyances

Commenti: Overall, my experience has been positive. It would be nice to be able to request a feature and receive a response from Postbox staff as to whether there is any possibility of implementation.

Postbox is relatively easy to use. The overall interface and design are well-done, which contributes to ease of use. Postbox has powerful search features and searches are rapid, after initial indexing has occurred. The ability to quickly filter by contact name or by other message characteristics is also very nice. Displaying just the names of attachments and being able to quickly review them is a big plus.

Aspetti negativi:

The most annoying feature for me is that selecting a topic for a message will add that topic to the entire message conversation. Often I want to tag different emails in the conversation with a different topic tag but this isn't possible. I've used Postbox for many years, but as my number of saved emails has accumulated, I need to be able to categorize them individually so this "feature" is increasingly leading me to consider other email software options.

The only email app that I keep using

Commenti: Postbox has made dealing with email less of a chore with the right mix of tools for my business needs.

Postbox combines the core features I need for an email app with an excellent support team. Management of multiple inboxes into both single and shared views makes it easy to manage my email, and there are several automation tools built-in.

Aspetti negativi:

I keep asking them to integrate Grammarly. That's the one thing I need to make me completely happy with Postbox.

A true email client

Commenti: I have used Postbox since its first release. I have used it on both MAC and Windows OS and have always found it easy to use. The major plus for me is how easy it is to find an attachment and the way I can link to new emails. The program is built to be intuitive which means the hard work is always done for you. Every upgrade has left you with the same UI so you never had to re-learn how to use it. I currently store ten years of email on it so about 26,000 and have never had a problem.

Easy to manage attachments the "view" aspect of the program is what really makes it unique.

Aspetti negativi:

Does not always find the correct config when adding email addresses. No mobile version.

My Go-To Email Software!

Commenti: I have been using Postbox for the past several years and it has become my go-to desktop email client. It is able to handle my many emails that I get daily on my several email accounts, both work and personal.

Simplifies my email

I have used Postbox since before gmail was so common. I originally kept an archive of all my emails. It became onerous on my old computer. When I got a new computer, I didn't install Postbox immediately, and tried other programs. I really missed the threading, the signature, the search, and the ability to flag messages. I reinstalled Postbox after trying other programs and I can't believe how much easier it is to handle email. I am no longer archiving messages on my computer, but am using a cloud service. The speed issue has disappeared.

I have no complaints at this point in time.

Clean and modern e-mail tool for the small business or Freelancer

Commenti: I like it!btw. I bought a lifetime license years ago - which was less than the subscription price that other products charge for a year.

Aspetti positivi:

I like the clean and crisp layout, ease of use. I come from years and years of Thunderbird, Outlook, and Mailbird use - and Postbox is a much less cluttered experience. Furthermore, I use it strictly for emails - so no Task Management, Chats, Grouping, etc. that is included in many other tools (but which I don't need).

Aspetti negativi:

I would like to have a Calendar (connection), and an update for the layout of the Address Book seems overdue.

Love the flexible Postbox

Having to go through my extensive collection of folders to see wether I was subscribed to them or not.Also deleting folders containing subfolders is a bit complex as you need to start working bottom up to achieve this.To me not very important cons, as this is not a daily task

Closest I have found to be like the now defunct IncrediMail

Commenti: Simplicity of use. Easy learning curve.

Simplicity of use of the product. I have compared this product to the defunct IncrediMail. I had a problem with setup because Google kept taking over and the product would not work for me. Support worked with me to fix the problem. They were awesome!

Aspetti negativi:

NO paste feature in Signature development box.So far cannot find a way to import my contacts from the terrible eM client!

Postbox Meets My Needs

Aspetti positivi:

Postbox was very easy to setup and use, and I like the personalization options and the many themes available.

Aspetti negativi:

I would like to see a dialog box pop up when checking for new mail. The tiny little line at the bottom of the screen is very hard to read!

Affordable, easy to use but needs some improvements

Commenti: Overall, I really like this e-mail app. Although, it has some cons which I explained above, it is totally worth to money.

Aspetti positivi:

The most important aspect of an e-mail app for me is the ability to create filters and Postbox does a really good job. It allows you to create filters, such as if the e-mail is from this domain or a specific e-mail address, move to this folder and assign this topic etc. They provide student discounts which is a big plus. They also have a lifetime license option and the app is continuously receiving updates.

Aspetti negativi:

The customer support should be improved and should be free. They try to charge you $8 per incident for the support. They are saying they would refund the fee, if your problem is due to a bug, but still it does not make sense to get a support from a paid app with an extra fee.

I can't function without Postbox!

Commenti: My job requires reading, accurately filing away, and responding to hundreds of email messages each business day. I've used dozens of other email clients and none of them can hold a candle to Postbox. For better or worse, I am hopelessly addicted to this tool.

There are so many features that Postbox has that I depend on day to day, I'm not sure where to start. I think the most useful for me personally is the ability to color-code messages and assign topics to them. "Accounting" is green. "Contracts" are orange. "Urgent" is red. "Publicity" is fuchsia. It's simple to categorize my email by urgency and topic this way. After that, the quick-move feature that also exists in the Gmail web interface that allows you to easily label and file/archive messages is great. They expanded that with the new "copy" feature which I am also using a lot. Even some of the lesser-used but advanced features quickly come around as must-haves. One example is the new "clips" feature, which allows you to easily stylize outgoing messages to really let your emails stand apart from others in a long email chain. It's very useful. With the new version 7, we can also choose from a number of attractive themes which make the interface look very slick.

I have experienced some instability from time to time, but to be fair, I run about a half dozen separate email accounts consisting of hundreds of thousands of messages through Postbox every day. I also noticed that the software became much more stable after I upgraded to MacOS Mojave from High Sierra, so these matters were apparently not Postbox related, but instead OS related. To be honest, I have few complaints about the software, and the few times I have ever had to contact support, they have been extremely responsive and helpful.

Rich in Features.

Commenti: I've been using Postbox as my main mail app since I purchase v2 in March of 2011 (technically I Beta test v1 so I've been a lifelong Postbox fan). I've seen a lot of changes in the app and I have always been incredibly impressed with the quality of product, focus on user security, and customer service.

Aspetti positivi:

Clean and simply user interface. The "competitors" can often overload their layout with too many ribbons and buttons. What I love about Postbox is they have simple and well organized design which focuses on mail. Plus, there are so many user tweaks, such as themes, Quick Post, and Focus Pane to name a few.

Aspetti negativi:

New Swipe Gestures on macOS, which are new to version 7 seem clunkly and hard to control the correct movement to select the right functionality. As of now, a box comes up and there is no "progress indicator" as to how far you need to swipe to get to the new gesture. Its current iteration seems overly bulky to the rest of the apps modern layout. I'd like to see a smaller swipe gesture (maybe something on the select piece of mail instead of hovering over the entire window --and-- have a much needed progress bar.

Good for Business Good for Personal

Commenti: I started using (and recommending) Postbox during my time as a IT consultant to small businesses (who also love the software). I now am semi retired and us the software personally for my investment activities. Since I get a lot of old emails related to my former business, Postbox allows me to sort them into folders for a later look or delete them directly. I have multiple emails for security purposes and I am able to consolidate them into the single Postbox application. It is easy to use, easy to confiure, and it works all the time.

Aspetti positivi:

Ability to consolidate multiple emails onto one platform with the ability to send from any. Filter ability is excellent to group incoming emails into the best folder and in cases of spam directly to delete. Ability to search the contents of all emails (or select email accounts) in one easy search

Aspetti negativi:

Sometimes the indexing feature takes a long time and puts the software on hold.

The best client for e mail management

Commenti: Email management has become so much simpler and fast too thanks to Postbox. I can file my mails away easily.

Aspetti positivi:

I started with Postbox v3.x and we are now at v7.x. One amazing product. The best feature of this is that you file your mails very easily into folders without needing to remember the layers. It will search for it and show you in the drop down list. This feature was something I discovered only in v6 (Though it was there earlier but I was the ignoramus). And yes I have some 15 e mail accounts I manage through Postbox! One single interface works for me.

I don't think I have any negative to share about this product. It is very well made and when I say very well, I mean every single alphabet of it.

Effective, simple but comprehensive

Been using Postbox for years now. I think started with version 3 and they are at v7 now. Continuously being developed it is a smart tool for anyone using they Mac as an office place! I am constantly on my computer and sending & receiving emails. It is a hassle free piece of software. Setting up is no different or difficult then any other mail software. I migrated from Outlook (back then) and it was far easier to use and was very easy to adjust to.

Aspetti negativi:

I have not managed to figure out how to import my settings and email to a new computer and I dont think the information available online explains it well. This weekend I have re-setup my MAC twice and both of the times I tried to import rather than having to setup all over again but failed. Luckily I am using my email accounts with IMAP connections so it was easy to sync but importing I did not manage. Also, I had to go to Mojave from Catalina and there were issues (stemming from Catalina I think). Back to Mojave and have no issues.

Nice to look at but...

Commenti: Poorly designed and set afloat with no support, forum, or written documentation. Their support is just marketing hype with pretty pictures. Period. End of sentence. Do I think it sucks? Yep!

It looks nice. Purported to be a business class product. NOT. It. Isn't. Ready. For. Prime. Time. It is still pre-beta.

Aspetti negativi:

Too many un-editable default settings. The message filtering does not work. The junk filtering does not work. You must click the load images on any mail that has an image in it.

Mail Clients worth Considering

Commenti: I have used it for many many years. I replaced Outlook with Postbox and have, for the most part, been very satisfied. If it offered a anti-spam plugin architecture and there were anti-spam tools (marketplace) that would make it ideal for managing multiple accounts. More ideal if it worked hand in hand with particular mail-servers to enable config sharing for web-mail and/or client scriptability and custom columns similar to how Directory Opus does for Windows Desktop. Aspetti positivi:

It just works and provides a full featured alternative to Outlook.

Aspetti negativi:

It can be slow with large amounts of data GBs. It could optimize its Sqlite DB management better. It could improve spam/security symbol/viewing/warnings similar to how browsers display web-site credential warnings.

Hands down the best email client I’ve ever used

Commenti: After using outlook this was an introduction to software done right!
Straight away it just made sense! It never gets in the way! I have a very large in box and the app never slows down!
Even on my old iMac with a standard HD it’s nippy!

This is email sorted! I’ve used multiple different email clients and postbox was a lucky find being included with a bundle of software that I bought years ago I loved it so much when v4 came out I bought a lifetime license and I am over the moon that I did! As this app just gets better and better! This is designed by people that use email!

Aspetti negativi:

It’s a very small thing I’d just like the reminders to be date aware so I get a prompt for my ageing brain to do things!

Better for my needs

Commenti: I had found that Outlook was not meeting my needs in the areas of searching for items, having an interface that allowed more than one way of navigating, the storage of emails in IMAP folders, the general look and feel and the stability. Postbox addressed those needs for me and since I spend so much time in email, the look and feel is important to my daily existence and experience. So small differences matter and big improvements matter even more. Thank you Postbox!

What I enjoy most about Postbox is the ability for me to customize it to my needs. I also enjoy the new features that allow me to quickly form communications and sort my incoming emails.

Aspetti negativi:

It seems that each time I have a limitation I go to the help and they have an answer. Being a busy person I don't have the time to learn every feature, but I am glad they are there.

It just works so well

It's so so unobtrusive. Doesn't seem to hog resources, much faster than other mail clients I've tried and it looks prettier. I have 8 accounts set up and it all just works all the time. Also, several email clients (windows mail & mailbird for example) barely give you notice when an email fails to send, and I only find out hours later, a big alert is a necessity for me and Postbox has that. And the prize is good.

The one thing I don't understand, or haven't been able to find, is why I can't have signatures automatically inserted into emails. I often forget. And for some reason I can't delete emails in a Microsoft Office email account.

Everythings fine and I wouln'd change the software ever

Commenti: I use postbox nearly 7 years now and its one of the best e-mail-clients I have managed over the years. I have many customers with problems on their clients, so I have access to many of them. Support and Service - 5 Stars Usage and UX - 5 Stars Handling of over 1 million emails - running smooth - 5 Stars All my clients to whom I recommended Postbox are also very satisfied and happy to have parted with their previous client.
