Informazioni su DbVisualizer
DbVisualizer è uno strumento di database universale per amministratori, sviluppatori e analisti.
Integrates easily with a wide range of databases, and support for others can be added pretty easily. I've used DbVisualizer with everything from Presto to SQLite over the years and it just works.
I do wish when importing from a file it gave a bit more info in what is failing if applicable.

after all that years....
Commenti: Extremely helpful on a day to day base for typical software developments needs
Aspetti positivi:
- SQL auto completion- runs on Windows and MacOS- Navigate within the relational database schema
Aspetti negativi:
missing some UI customizations and preferencies
Alternative considerate:
DBVis for Analysts
Commenti: I've had a great experience using this product. We continue to use it, even after 4 years.
Aspetti positivi:
I think the software is very easy to install and get going quickly. I helped choose the product for my team and picked it over many others, even the free ones! It works great for querying and updating data.
Aspetti negativi:
The free version is good but lacks a ton of power. You have to upgrade to the pro version to get most of the functionality that an analyst team needs.
Great to use
Commenti: Great for exploring tables within databases. Very easy to create a connection to a database, and it is more or less intuitive to use.
Aspetti positivi:
For viewing tables in a database -- very helpful!
Aspetti negativi:
My only con about is that I use SAS for data management activities, and it is easier to use SAS/ACCESS instead of querying the database via DBVisualizer, then importing that output into SAS.
DbVisualizer: A Solid Choice for Database Management
Commenti:
I work with DbVisualizer since 2013 and see how it is evolving over time: adding new databases, new features to databases or making UI nicer.
Mostly I use SQL to analyze data and develop tables/views/procedures in different databases.
Aspetti positivi:
It has a nice user interface, support many different databases (just add jdbc). Makes a life of DB developer or analyst much easier.
Aspetti negativi:
It can be demanding on system resources (memory), especially when working constantly on large datasets - I mean keeping lots of data tabs open. And it's written in Java, so all that heap/memory usage topics.
DBViz works well for me
Commenti: I use it everyday. The Pro version is a must as I often have many tabs open.
Aspetti positivi:
I like the export functionality the best. It is also fairly easy to set up the drivers and connect. The option for Dark mode is a lifesaver.
Aspetti negativi:
I wish there was a better way to alias columns in bulk, instead of typing ,a. in from of all of them. I wish there was a word wrap on editor tabs so that if I have a long name for a query file it doesn't take up so much horizontal space.
Great tool for browsing databases
Commenti: We were using the free version of this tool since many years: there was enough functionnalities for developer purpose. I tried the PRO version and it is really a gain of time for inserting/updating/deleting datas. I recommend this tool for his lower price and lot of functionnality comparing to othe 'big' one.
Aspetti positivi:
The most usefull functionnality for me is the simplicity of the interface and the number of various database I can set up like Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase.
Aspetti negativi:
In the free version, the scripts we can generate to insert/update/delete data is not always working correctly. In a Citrix environment maybe use too many RAM even for small queries.
Alternative considerate:
DbVisualizer is a fantastic tool for a Database developer or DBA
Commenti: Overall experience is very good, I am loving it.
Aspetti positivi:
Database diagrams and exporting results to multiple different formats
Aspetti negativi:
Not having autocomplete for stored procedures
Great tool that keeps on improving
Aspetti positivi:
I've been using dbvis for almost 20 years. It is reliable, has all the features I need, and keeps on improving to support more server types and add new features. I like its ability to build queries with column aids, to run large queries when necessary, to keep track of many database connections, and to run explain plan queries with visualization.
Aspetti negativi:
No problems really. I've stuck with it for a long time even though there are numerous competitors.
Alternative considerate:
Excellent all-in-one DB tool
Commenti: Overall, I love it. Its an excellent tool packed with features and supports all DBMS
Aspetti positivi:
I like it that it supports multiple DBMS and all platforms, so I can use it on my mac and windows laptop
Aspetti negativi:
I wish there was an option to cloud-sync settings, bookmarks and files.
DbVisualizer is the Best DB Management
Commenti: I have been using DbVisualizer since I started working, which is more than 10 years now. DbVisualizer is an easy-to-use tool designed to work with almost every database. The databases I use regularly are DB2 and MariaDB.
Aspetti positivi:
I use the pro package, which has a variety of capabilities. I usually to use check cost of SQL for the most performance running in program.
Aspetti negativi:
One thing I don't like about DbVisualizer is that it tends to hang or crash when used with large databases or tables with huge amounts of data.
Great Product...Easy to Use!
Commenti: Overall...great experience. Really like working with DbVis!
Aspetti positivi:
Really like the ease of use. It's reliable, dependable and just a workhorse to query your database. Like the fact that the updates are easy to install. When I have a question and/or a problem that needs resolution, there are lots of resources available to help.
Aspetti negativi:
I did have a problem once that was especially challenging and difficult for me to bring to resolution, but eventually I was able to solve it. An upgrade stalled midway through that just would not successfully complete the installation process. Customer service was able to help me identify that the install was hungup and expecting the latest version of other software on my laptop. Once that was updated the install process completed successfully.
A great tool for multitasking and auto scheduling numerous databases
Aspetti positivi:
DB visualizer is easy to use and easy to implement. The ability to output data and auto-schedule queries is great for increasing productivity.
Aspetti negativi:
The documentation can be improved through the use of better samples.
The gold standard for multiple database management work.
Commenti: I have yet to find a tool that works like DbVisualizer for my multiple database work.
Aspetti positivi:
It is the best product on the market for multi-platform database management. A single interface for all the major databases. It saves me countless hours when working on different platforms. The spend to delivery is why it is my primary tool. The export tools are solid and provides for ease of cross platform work.
Aspetti negativi:
The challenge with being the best for all platforms is that it also comes with its challenges regarding "explain plans" for database optimization.
DB Visualizer is My Choice For a Broad Number of Engines
Aspetti positivi:
This product is easy enough to use that I have even configured it for non-technical customers to allow them to easily browse and even edit data. There is some setup in those situations, but it is minimal (create the connection)
Aspetti negativi:
I love this product. I cannot think of anything that I am not happy with.
Outstanding product
Commenti: This consistent interface provided by DBVis as we are constantly querying multiple databases from different vendors has made it easy to deploy and provide consistent examples to our user base.
Aspetti positivi:
quick storage of past query results is really helpful in determining what did and didn't work well previously. While script storage is possible, that has been time and again one of my go to resources.
Aspetti negativi:
I haven't really found any downside to the product yet.
Ideal if you need to deal with different RDBMS
Aspetti positivi:
The fact of using a single tool to access all the database types I had to deal with (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle and MSSQL Server).
Aspetti negativi:
I find the need of installing the JRE a bit cumbersome. On the other hand this makes the installation flexible, because it can be installed on different OSs with the same user experience.
Good product
Commenti: It has a big impact on our performance increasing our capacity to develope SQLs
Aspetti positivi:
It's easy to use, it's very fast and it's easy to manage different databases
Aspetti negativi:
Sometimes it's complicate to use a friendly constructor for relations between tables
Perfect database visualisation
Commenti: I like this tool very much. It's easy to use und brings very good features.
Aspetti positivi:
I like so mutch the feature to navigate in my databases.
Aspetti negativi:
At the moment, I dont miss any feature in DbVisualizer.
overall
Commenti: I've had very good experience.
Aspetti positivi:
Good visualization, good use of memory and easy to back out of queries.
Aspetti negativi:
I wish copying values from a result set would put commas between the values and single quotes like SQL developer does.
Great Product
Commenti: Love it. I literally use it 3 times a week at minimum.
Aspetti positivi:
I love it's ease of use connecting, navigating and querying. The query builder feature is a great way to start on complex joins without having to type a lot. :-)
Aspetti negativi:
The viewing of relationships and references or anything looking like an ERD is quite unintuitive and clunky.
I've tried others but keep coming back to DbVisualizer
Aspetti positivi:
Great table / view navigation. Integrates easily with a wide range of databases, and support for others can be added pretty easily. I've used DbVisualizer with everything from Presto to SQLite over the years and it just works.
Aspetti negativi:
The autocomplete function is a little overzealous at times.
Review of DbVisualizer
Commenti: DbVisualizer is one of the best multiple database management tools. I use it to manage, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle, and H2. Really nice to be able to use one interface to address all these different databases.
Aspetti positivi:
Support for so many different databases!
Aspetti negativi:
I don’t like the new taskbar icon. It washes out a bit.
Ease of Data Analysis
Commenti: DbVisualizer is my go-to data extracting tool!
Aspetti positivi:
Data Analysis is fast and easy; Easy to find table/field information and to pull sample data during development.
Aspetti negativi:
Seems like some of the sql keywords valid for the selected database don't always work in dbvisualizer.
Great product
Commenti: Amazing. Smooth system and very easy to use.
Aspetti positivi:
Simple UI (love the recent upgrade) and very intuitive
Aspetti negativi:
There isn’t anything I don’t like. Maybe the ability to use more fonts.
You don't have to be a genuis to use this
Commenti: Love it, use it - it will be your best Data friend.
Aspetti positivi:
I'm definately no SQL geek but I always get what I need out of DbVis. Support info is great, with a bit of internent searching and I've got some very impressing reports. Pro version is a must to get what you need stress free.
Aspetti negativi:
There is a bit of learning curve ... but so is there to switch on the TV.
