Ho iniziato a fare video editing grazie a Camtasia, soprattutto perchè integrava una intelligente gestione dello screen recording (la funzionalità principale che me lo fece preferire rispetto alla concorrenza).Bella la nuova interfaccia, moderna e catchy.

Aspetti negativi:

A differenza di altri software che integrano la possibilità di aggiungere plugin di terze parti, Camtasia ne è sprovvisto.

Semplice e diretto

Commenti: Avendo fatto dei video per la piattaforma di Youtube, mi sono affidato molte volte a Camtasia per il montaggio dei video e per la registrazione dei giochi a schermo. Affidabile e mai avuto problemi in quello che mi serviva. Esperienza consigliata per chi opera in questo settore.

La facilità di creare e registrare video è impressionante, una delle mie app preferite, se devo consigliarne una direi proprio Camtasia, per il suo prezzo e alcune funzionalità.

Rispetto ad altre app è sicuramente molto ma molto buona, certo non è classificata al primo posto, in quanto su alcune cose non mi è piaciuta, tipo qualità, che dipende anche un pò da chi l'utilizza, ma per iniziare va piuttosto bene

Buon software per la creazione di video tutorial

Commenti: Utilizzo Camtasia periodicamente per la registrazione della schermo. Si vede che il software è un riferimento nel settore per questo tipo di attività, in quanto tutte le funzioni sono di facile utilizzo e raggiungibili facilmente. Ottima la qualità di registrazione delle varie sessioni e la conversione nei formati video per la pubblicazione sul web.

Commenti: Il programma è molto semplice da usare, ma non per questo amatoriale: al contrario, permette di ottenere video professionali, anche partendo da una competenza base di editing video. Ho molto apprezzato l'ampia e completa sezione video tutorial presente sul sito techsmith.com, che permette di acquisire competenze avanzate.

Ho iniziato ad usare Camtasia senza aver mai fatto editing video professionale, con un background da grafico web. Devo dire che l'organizzazione dell'interfaccia che permette di registrare lo schermo ed editare i contenuti è molto semplice e intuitiva, con funzionalità analoghe ad altri software di grafica e fotoritocco. Ho trovato molto evidente la modalità di registrazione dello schermo, e l'editing del video, per la maggior parte 'drag and drop'. Ho molto apprezzato la possibilità di catturare tutto ciò che accade sullo schermo del PC, compreso il mouse: il movimento di quest'ultimo può essere modificato in fase di editing conferendo al video un aspetto davvero professionale.

Aspetti negativi:

Durante l'utilizzo di Camtasia 2020 ho riscontrato dei punti deboli, che sono sono stati corretti con la versione 2021: non è possibile salvare in rete le risorse media (difetto risolto con un maggior controllo e personalizzazione delle risorse remote); gestione difficoltosa dei gruppi di elementi (anche questo aspetto è stato migliorato nella versione 2021). Ho inoltre notato che è preferibile utilizzare un secondo monitor per scollegare il canvas dalla timeline e agire su entrambe con maggior facilità. Alcune parti dell'interfaccia non sono molto efficaci, e avrei preferito un numero maggiore di shortcut.

Best choice for rookies and pros.

Commenti: I am not a video-editing pro, I use it for recording and putting together webinars and training videos and Camtasia has always been my-go to software for years. It is very easy to start using it if you don't know anything about video editing but a miriad of additional featureas and options will make it easy. Due to its nature it might work slower on waker machines so it may take time between you click on record and it starts recording but you will always know when it does so there is no chance of recording or cutting your recording earlier. Editing is quite easy although applying smooth transitions between cuts with some efects takes some practice.

Aspetti positivi:

Ease of use but losts of advanced settings for more experienced users. Can caputer the screen and your camera/audio at the same time. Lots of customizations, including capturing a piece of screen, video effects (e.g. blurring sensitive data) as well as easy editing. Great effect with little effort.

Aspetti negativi:

It needs lots of resources on the machine, even for a video editing software. Additionally, rendering will take some time on a regular laptop. Some options, such as the library I found unintuitive to use.

Great overall experience with Camtasia

Commenti: My overall experience with Camtasia has been an A+. I have taken the certification and have thoroughly enjoyed the tutorials. These have led to me being a more productive content creator.

Camtasia has allowed me to quickly transition to the video editing world and make creative content that is both educational and stimulating. The staff at Tech Smith is always making refinements, which gives me the confidence to continue learning and creating.

There is no formal way to request features through the software.

Technical Support is an Issue at Techsmith

Commenti: I enjoy using the product on my PC. Transferring projects from one PC to another is very difficult.

Aspetti positivi:

Can produce videos on your PC. Easy to import audio and video files.

Aspetti negativi:

Poor technical support. Software is not backward compatible. Projects created in versions before 2020 (*.camproj) will not open with newer versions. The technical support group is not there on Fridays and the telephone hotline doesn't work. If you buy a Techsmith product, you will need to figure it out on your own.

Great for Those New to Video Editing

Commenti: Camtasia is a tool that works and doesn't have too many frills. It doesn't take as long to learn, but for someone with experience creating and editing video, it might seem pretty limiting.

It's a fairly easy video creation tool. It doesn't have too many frills so it isn't too challenging to learn.

Aspetti negativi:

The UI is a little clunky and having "Favorites" are not all in one place. You have to go to each individual tab and find your favorites whether starred or a library you created.

A GREAT, quicker, Easier to learn alternative for "Almost pro-level" video creation

Commenti: I would give it a 95 out of 100. I have very few complaints. I have created some really great looking videos that the average person would not be able to tell if this were done in a program that cost thousands more.

Aspetti positivi:

Easy to get in and do screen captures and video editing. A growing library of cool animations, templates, and effects that they continually add to. Quick tools that are easy to learn to do a lot of effects that are dangerously close to pro platforms like adobe and final cut, only without the massive rendering time etc.

Aspetti negativi:

Some of the effects are a little cheap looking, but the library of options continues to grow. Sometimes the crashes and bugs are annoying, but I've seen that in the big programs as well. ESPECIALLY FINAL CUT PRO

Camtasia Can Be a Better Fit than More Expensive Video Editors

Commenti: Camtasia has always exceeded my expectations. It's way more powerful than people might expect, I know quite a bit about Camtasia but I totally admit there are more some features I haven't learned yet how to use but I know they exist and when I need them I know they will be there. TechSmith is also a really great company to work with, they really care about their products and making them better.

Aspetti positivi:

1) The hot spot feature, it's something other tools just don't have. 2) Camtasia has pre-built features that other tools don't have, you can just do things much faster in Camtasia than what it takes me to do in Premiere and Final Cut. 3) TechSmith has made a lot of smart decisions by creating a video editor that most people can learn how to use in a short amount of time. Albeit that Camtasia is not the most advanced video editing platform but it doesn't have to be, it's perfect for the average person who needs to do some video editing. This is why I love Camtasia, I can ramp up new video editors quickly. Even my advanced video editor now sings the praises of Camtasia, he complained at first but now even he sees the light.

We have pushed Camtasia to where it breaks with too many layers, yes I know the workarounds but this could be improved upon. I'm a little concerned about the EOL of the HTML output, please don't lose that feature because it's super important for the hot spot feature.

The Non-Corporate Enthusiast

Commenti: I understand that further development has "corporate appeal" as its main aim. As a single user, a retired non-corporate user, I am not your principal focus. I am getting left behind as recent upgrades reflect corporate rates ($$$$) The program is of great value but upgrade costs for features that I don't use are quickly separating me as a future user. And that would be a shame.

Camtasia is used frequenty, every week, but often daily. More than a hobbiest, it is a principal tool in my video editing toolbox.

Aspetti negativi:

I am not a fan of the available navigation tools for timeline editing, but with frequent use, I have my workarounds. I would not want to be without the program.

Great tool with low cost and great results.

I love how easy it is to use. People who knows zero about video edition or Camtasia can use it within minutes of tutorials. It's a powerfull tool that I use about 10 years already and can see how improved it is.

The cost, but it's a local problem, because for us in Brazil is a high cost. But overall, it worth the pay.

Easiest Video Editor - some features need work.

Commenti: I have switched to other video editors. They're either overly complicated (too feature-rich) or too expensive. Some are too simplistic. Camtasia continues to be the easiest to learn, use, and deploy videos. Regardless of whatever tools I try, I keep coming back to Camtasia.

Camtasia is intuitive. It's pretty easy to understand how to get samples into the editor, how to cut scenes, how to stack videos and audio. There are a lot of audio and video effects that are obvious as to how to use them and what they do. The barriers to entry are very low. And it's a decent price for the capabilities.

Aspetti negativi:

The new "Background Removal" is not great (moving around causes flickering). A long-time complaint is a lack of Video Titling. No easy way to time-reverse a snippet. Chromakey (remove color) doesn't work well.

Capture your fantasy screen

Commenti: I enjoyed creating my video course and used most of Camtasia functionalities, and even though I had a very low memory RAM size I got a good and smooth product at the end.

Well, I started the use of Camtasia about ten years ago and I was astonished how easy was to learn the use of. Besides, upon a few clicks anything were set just out of the box and I could create my first course about video-editing. It's a great software to create a video from a high quality screen capture.

Aspetti negativi:

The price it's the mayor con! If you can afford it and the updates then the cost value the quality. The second con is that you need a lot of memory to get a smooth work. If do you have 32 GB RAM can work fine without problem. No other con from my experience.

Camtasia is why I can do what I do

Commenti: Overall, I’ve had a great experience with Camtasia. I’ve used it for YouTube, for my teaching and making training and demonstration videos for other contracts I’ve had.

The ability to edit video was a total game-changer. Otherwise, I may as well just post videos recorded with a phone camera. It allows my videos to be infinitely better than they would be otherwise. The timeline-style editing is great and I now think in those terms when recording.

Aspetti negativi:

The 2023 version is not as stable as the old version I had. The old version NEVER crashed (okay, maybe once in five years). 2023… has been known to choke when I try to use and edit large recordings. Have also had some problems with the license key sometimes just… going away and the system not accepting my license key when I re-enter it. Extremely annoying. I’ve had the new version since Nov. and this problem happens about every two months so far.

Does the job for me

I have sometimes had some technical issues - mostly because Camtasia creates some temp recording that fill up space on my local storage - and eventually breaks down. Solution is to remove the temp recordings - maybe this should be something that is build into Camtasia
