It also makes use of ZFS file system which is even more verbose than the old-school RAID array way of storing your data. It was also very easy to integrate a NAS to store backups to it, and backup and restore actions are super easy. As is automating nightly backups. As is installing monthly Proxmox Server updates, there's literally a few buttons you click in the web ui and you are up to date. I pay extra for the subscription for updates because this service has proven itself very useful to us. There's also services in it I haven't started using yet like the ability to automate offloading a VM to another Node if there's a need for it's primary Node to go down. > > **Inconvenienti**: If you haven't done any work with virtual machines before, there's a learning curve for sure, but it's worth learning if you want to add any free or cheap virtual machines to your Organization or internally to your department. > > Proxmox is a free Open Source Virtualization platform for running Virtual Machines.
