MasterControl MES has provided my company with a great resource to make our entire process more lean. The savings we have had as a company just from moving away from paper records is worthwhile enough, but the modular nature and no-code simplicity of the interface has allowed us simplify all of our records in a way that was easy to implement. Also, the interface with our quality system was seamless and API integrations are something we are looking forward to putting in place. MasterControl is also constantly improving their software to provide more and more functionality to its end users and the customer service experience has been excellent

Aspetti negativi:

Integrating with regulatory, validation of templates, and some small lags are the main issues or services that we have not taken advantage of yet.

MasterControl Review

Aspetti positivi:

The infocard feature that allows you to check previous history, status, revisions, upload attachments, and adding links to documents.

Aspetti negativi:

Constantly logs out of my account, frequently doesn't save or capture changes in collaboration workspace, frequently doesn't allow or there is an error when opening documents in collaboration, lag time to search for documents, occasionally will have to click "discard" or "replace" the infocard when revising documents in the collaboration workspace, and searching for document # and sometimes doesn't show up unless you click "expand search" to find the document.

Aspetti positivi:

Issuing batch records is extremely simple. Lot number control ensures numbers aren't skipped and the ability to filter records between various products is extremely useful. Mx Builder is user friendly and intuitive to use. Regex expressions allow you to define user inputs, decreasing entry errors.

Aspetti negativi:

Reporting and data analysis is a bit challenging. Insights is an improvement from Jreports, however, there is still quite a learning curve before the module becomes useful. More training and improvements to the speed/functionality of Insights would greatly improve the product.

Aspetti positivi:

I find the Master Template Builder tool to be relatively easy to use. The interface is user-friendly and functionalities make sense.

Aspetti negativi:

For Master Template building, our team has found that some restrictions are difficult to find work-arounds for. For example, if an Operation level is configured to be 'Repeatable', if any calculated values are within that repeated Operation, those same values cannot be pulled to other parts of the record. This is limiting when data propagates throughout an entire record. I have trained the Builders to instruct 'transcribing values' from repeatable Operations to be able to be used later downstream.

Review of MasterControl in MFG from builder/user perspective

Commenti: Overall MasterControl has been a huge success for our company. Standards of quality, tracibility and less deviations are all apparent with the implementation on MasterControl within our site.

Aspetti positivi:

I like the flexibility to build an electronic batch around our process. In the past I've seen process changes occur in order to facilitate lack of software configurability which is a concern. The flexibility of MasterControl eliminates that concern.

Aspetti negativi:

Fully integrating MasterControl with an established ERP such as SAP is a little more difficult than it first seemed. We have quite intricate batch records with a large amount of differing components. MasterControl has been open and helpful during this process, but there have been many bumps in the road.

Aspetti positivi:

We use this product to maintain our production in our subsidiary, and not many other companies offer this feature.

Aspetti negativi:

The cost of licensure limits how many people can make and use the eBR.

Review of Production records

Commenti: It continues to be a good experience. I have used manual batch records in the past and it can be challenging in running a process and ensuring that the document is not damaged as well as being unable to read someone's handwriting or managing printouts/attachments. The eBR is more efficient and I like that a user has to be trained before being able to perform a task in the eBR.

Aspetti positivi:

I did not participate in the configuration. However, I have used the Production Record Solution to issue electronic batch records.

Aspetti negativi:

I do not like the search function. It can be challenging to search for a completed production record. Some of the fields have too many options for completed records.

Best MasterControl Product

Aspetti positivi:

It is extremely easy to both create master templates and complete production records.

Aspetti negativi:

Taking time to get improvements that I find valuable.

Mastercontrol Review

Aspetti positivi:

The change control process is great, so is the search function. E batch records are very useful for the one process we used

Aspetti negativi:

Our instance was set up by an internal team that should not have been in charge of that task. As a result our instance ended up feeling clunky and unintuitive.

MasterControl is Easy to Use!

Commenti: Overall I believe MasterControl is a 9 out of 10, I have seen and used worse eQMS. Yes there are some problems but I overall really like the product.

Aspetti positivi:

I love the form builder and the JR Reports/Insights. More of the form builder so we can build our our quality and system access forms.

Aspetti negativi:

Even though I love the form builder, the template is really hard to use and there is so much limit to what can be added to the forms. And with a longer eForm being made and continuously updating, the JR Report for it keeps breaking.

Document Control traceability is very good.

Customization and ability to speak to other systems.

Manufacturing Excellence Review

Commenti: MasterControl has been a great help with implementation of MX. The initial sessions with the SMEs were very beneficial in helping us to gain a thorough understanding of the tool which allowed us to effectively use the tool once our initial implementation phase was finished. They are also excellent at listening to the input that we have given about added functionality and are continually improving the product.

Aspetti positivi:

It provides a digital format for documenting production activities. This allows for a reduction in human errors specifically in documentation, as well as the ability to easily collect and analyze data about the manufacturing process.

Aspetti negativi:

The largest friction point that we have with MX is a lack of customizability. Our process is very complex and we have found ourselves having to make multi-step workarounds in order to replicate our process.

Commenti: The overall experience is great!. This system has helped improve documentation control and information retrieval.

Aspetti positivi:

Having all things in one place and easily accessible is incredible helpful.

Aspetti negativi:

In places where there were issue, they are being addressed. Sometimes the nomenclature used is confusing if a person does not have an IT background.

MX Review

Commenti: Overall I feel using MX has been a substantial improvement on how we product documentation in my department.

I like the adaptability of the system, it's undergoing additional functionality additions which are a big help.

Aspetti negativi:

I miss a change all shortcut feature in the builder environment.
