The ProShop integration is great. Charging to their account instead of having to require payment immediately has definitely increased sales.

Aspetti negativi:

I don't like that when my computer resets or updates, often times the software doesn't reopen doorkeeper as its supposed to and my door system fails to open for customers who have keys.

Great gym software

Commenti: It's been great, I've been using it now for 5+ years and it's been great.

Aspetti positivi:

The most pronounced feature this software has is it's ease of use and flexibility.

Aspetti negativi:

Honestly, there really isn't any cons to this software. It has all of the functions you would need to operate and keep track of member profiles. Not to mention they are growing and adding things all the time. If I had to list on thing, it would be that there isn't an online member portal, but I'm told it's on its way.

We really like Gym Assistant

Commenti: It’s been really great, honestly. My husband passed away and I’ve been running his gym since that time, May 27, 2023. I helped him once in a while behind the counter but I’ve learned a lot more about it over the last 18 months and I’ve really found it to be helpful. I know the rest of his team feels the same way. Thank you.

I like how we get so much information on each person, the number of visits the last time they checked in, how long they’ve been a member, we have the option of entering how much they paid the last time because we have a lot of discounts and it really helps us know what discount the person had. We can also see if they are a three month member or a month member or a six month member or a yearly member. It’s just been very helpful.

Aspetti negativi:

Well, I need to learn more about how to create reports. I love being able to see how many people came in during a day or a week or the past month or the past year, but I’d love to be able to print those out and have more understanding about how to use that feature. I also would love to know how to determine how many current clients we have. I can’t figure that out yet.

Commenti: My overall experience is that I am happy with the program.

It is very user friendly. Easy to use. Being able to pick what you want on reports is a great feature to have, it makes my job a lot easier. The Gym Assistant is great as well, anything I needed help with I went to manual first and I was able to find what I needed with out contacting the company for help.

Aspetti negativi:

I took over membership for our fitness center in August so I haven't worked with the program for that long, so far I haven't found anything I don't like about it.

Their customer service is second to none plus integrating with VIZpin and the online portal has been a game changer for my business. Easy and painless.

Basic & easy to use.

It doesn’t integrate with the billing platform I use, so I have to do a little extra work. I wish you could sort reports by first name as well as last name.

Aspetti positivi:

Gym Assistant does not charge monthly fees, it is easy to navigate, has a small learning curve, and has awesome customer support.

Aspetti negativi:

If they had an admin website/portal and/or admin app developed - absentee facility owners or managers who are away longer than normal time periods could manage membership changes and/or FOB issues. Using a software program that mirrors the desktop has not always worked well for us.

Great value for the investment.

Commenti: Running a gym and being profitable means managing costs very carefully. I am so happy to have a product that is not subscription-based. When I purchased the gym the [SENSITIVE CONTENT] of the company help me get this product running in 2 hours and there was disruption of service during the transition.

Aspetti positivi:

The quality and stability of the software. I have used the product for over 10 years and software defects are non-existent. This critical since I have very minimal staffing how for a 7 day operational environment. Adaptability to meet your business model is very intuitive and easy to tailor.

Aspetti negativi:

I do have some challenges with punch plan memberships. Operationally there are some limitations that could be improved. There are some reporting challenges as well.

Gym Assistant should be your top choice!

Commenti: We bought our first gym in 2016 and chose Gym Assistant because of it's value and simplicity. We have since added a second location with over 1,000 members along with a retail shop. Gym Assistant has been robust enough to grow with us. They continue to expand the product and the support has been outstanding.

I love the value that you get. From starting your first location with 100 members to expanding to multiple locations with 1,000+ members, Gym Assistant is robust enough to handle it. Easy to train new employees to add new members, ability for multiple membership packages, flexibility with monthly or daily billings. Point of sale add on for snack bars or retail merchandise is a great interface.

Aspetti negativi:

Could use a class scheduling module. Also, ability to have dual entry for the controllers, a fob and a 4 digit code for the keypad.

I am not the best to do a real review

Commenti: I wish I had this one 15 years ago when I started, I had time back then and I would have been able to figure out all the awesome functions to this program. I see them, but I still need to find the time to explore and call the company for help doing an accurate set up. As far as getting members signed up and be able to get them in the door and paying fees to keep the facility doing through this pandemic is priceless!

Aspetti positivi:

I liked it because with the help of my son, the set up was easy and the company was very helpful with taking him through the process. I like the fact that for a $100/year, I can have the company at my disposal to talk me through any questions I may have in setting it up. The 24/7 access is wonderful. Even if the electricity takes down the computer, the unit allows current members to still check in and keeps the information for me to put on the computer when I can get the program running again.

Aspetti negativi:

Taking time to use it to it's fullest is not something I have found yet. This is not the software's fault, it is mine.

Why I Love Gym Assistant

Commenti: We opened Path to Peace Wellness Center in 2014, and began using Gym Assistant at that time. I don't know how we would have managed without it! We have to pull reports for grants and other reports and this system is great to get what we need. I highly recommend Gym Assistant!

The ease of use. It is very user friendly. Our organization has to do reports for yearly audits, we can easily pull the reports we need.

Integration was somewhat difficult, but the tech support was great.

Commenti: Great product, does what its says it will do. Continually updated and a perfect fit

The software is very user friendly. We run a busy Community Gym and the functionality and ease of use of the system makes it a perfect fit for our operation. Obviously due to COVID-19 we had to close our facility but the GA Team's response, made its easier on re-opening. The software change to allow us to update our membership records globally to cater for the closure of 105 days and extend our memberships to correspond was extremely helpful. From the very beginning ( over 10 years a Customer) we have found the Customer support extremely proactive. As we are in Ireland and use € euro rather than $ Dollar, the team changed the currency for us to make it appropriate for our market. Overall we are extremely delighted with Gym Assistant.

Nothing really except the various descriptions such as delinquent, terminated etc...which would not be usual terms in our market.

Essential for Insurance Billing

Gym Assist Makes Running Our Business Much Easier

Commenti: We are very pleased with Gym Assistant. We have found it to be a very supportive system that is accommodating and flexible with our ever evolving and growing programs.

I really love the fact that I can work Gym Assist around our business model instead of having to run our business around the abilities of Gym Assist. We are punch card and add-on services heavy, rather than long term membership heavy and Gym Assist is flexible enough to manage these services well. In addition, we can customize reports to show exactly what we need to see to keep our business on track.

Aspetti negativi:

When taking a payment to renew a punch card the software shoots up an alert saying how many visits are now available but they visit number cannot be edited from that screen. We have to go back in and edit the member to change the number of visits. Not a big deal, but it's an extra step.
