I was the Cemetery Coordinator for a Charter Township that was just switching over to CIMS from another cemetery management package and from day one of switching, I was hooked. So much that I am the Township Clerk in another municipality and I fought hard to get CIMS here and now that I have, all is right in the cemetery world for me. The old management package is clunky and after having been spoiled with CIMS for two or more years, I was not excited about working on cemetery records for anything. Now that I have CIMS here, I have spent extra hours in the office just working on cemetery data and, as they say, time sure flies when you're having fun (in CIMS)\!\! The software is easy to use, packed with features that make it a great value, and the team is always upgrading and adding features and modules with keeping yearly maintenance costs manageable. I love having everything at my fingertips, being able to stand at the counter with a laptop to assist families, being able to go out to the cemetery and have CIMS on my iPad or my phone and easily work in the software. Everything is laid out in a way that makes sense; I've even trained other users within my organization in less than a day to be mostly proficient in using CIMS\! The CIMS team provides exceptional customer support; I can email with a question and either I receive an email or a phone call back within minutes and every time, the team member I speak with is friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Every two years, the CIMS team hosts a User Conference for one day in Wisconsin and I am still blown away by having attended last year. This is a team that really CARES about what CIMS users would like to see in upcoming releases, is excited about listening to users' experiences, concerns, and highlights. Users were invited to participate in beta testing the new Ledger module before its public release to see what we thought of it, what could be changed or done differently and the team followed up with testers before they put the final touches on the product for release. They listened to the group and every one of the team members was on a laptop taking copious notes the entire day, and we saw much of what was suggested and discussed in the next update...which occurred roughly two months after the conference\!\! We didn't wait long because the entire CIMS team is just as excited about their product as the users are\! I personally look forward to every new release because it's like Christmas - you don't know what you're going to get but you know it's going to be amazing\! The mapping process was easy when we migrated data and it's so easy to use on a daily basis when searching for cemetery information. The CIMS team walked me through the data migration on my end and took care of everything on their end and I didn't have to wait long\! The record keeping and process management that CIMS provides is phenomenal. I have everything in one place from burial records to maps to notes on each family we have served, and I keep adding more and more, eliminating the need to go anywhere in the building to search for cemetery records of any kind. The reporting: my area funeral directors, vault company, excavator, and even the Parks Department have gotten a Work Order from me and have remarked that it's easy to follow and a clean way of keeping records for their own purposes. I love the map to space option that CIMS provides because I can zero right in to where a burial is supposed to occur, eliminating the chance of burial in the wrong spot. > > **Inconvenienti**: There is not one thing I don't like about CIMS. It is everything, and more, that I could ask for in a cemetery management package. > > As you can tell, my overall experience with CIMS has been exceptional in both municipalities from Day One. I love working with a team who is passionate about their product and cares about their users. I wish there were other software packages (ordinance writing, minutes and agenda, payroll...and more) with a CIMS team and an awesome user-friendly product because that would make the overall Day in the Life of a Clerk so much easier. All the information that the cemetery needs to maintain files on customers is in one place and easy to access from any computer and/or smart device.
