I tried with three different microphones: my laptop's built-in mic (which would have been most convenient), a relatively cheap headset (which is the most comfortable one I have), and a high-end gaming headset (which I would have expected to work the best). None of the mic options allowed me to dictate with any measure of precision. I do not have a strong accent, and I speak clearly and distinctly due to years of competitive speech and debate, with multiple speaker awards, including first place speaker at a national collegiate tournament. I say that not to brag but to emphasize "It's not me, it's you." The free dictation tool built in to Microsoft Word worked better than this product. > > The money-back guarantee is very difficult to find on the website--I actually never saw the details of it until I emailed customer support to ask. It's on me for not reading the fine print, but be warned: This is NOT a true money-back guarantee. You only get 88 percent of your investment back. That means it cost me $23.99 to try out a clunky, outdated, and functionally useless software for half a day. Yuck\!
