### "Disappointing refund experience and dated dashboard" — 1.0/5

> **Vantaggi**: The sales and onboarding team were polite and responsive at the beginning. The idea of having a dedicated community app is appealing, and the team initially seemed willing to help us explore whether Disciple could support our business.

> **Inconvenienti**: The dashboard felt dated, unintuitive, and difficult to use compared with other platform we already use. More importantly, the refund handling was very disappointing. We requested cancellation within six days, before any app was created, submitted, published, launched, or used by end users, but Disciple refused any refund and did not provide a clear breakdown of account-specific costs.

> We approached Disciple because we wanted to create a dedicated app for our community.&#10;&#10;At the time, we were already using Kajabi, and Disciple knew this during the sales/onboarding process. They were also given access to our Kajabi environment. We later discovered that our existing Kajabi subscription already included white-label app functionality that substantially overlapped with the problem we had come to Disciple to solve.&#10;&#10;We requested cancellation and refund within six days of payment, before any app was created, submitted to Apple or Google, published, launched, or used by end users.&#10;&#10;Disciple refused to refund the payment and kept the full quarterly fee. They referred to their sales terms and said costs were incurred automatically, but in our correspondence they did not provide a clear breakdown of specific costs incurred for our account or evidence that app-related work had started.&#10;&#10;We also found the dashboard dated, unintuitive, and not particularly user-friendly. For a product positioned as a professional community app solution, the admin experience did not give us confidence.&#10;&#10;The refund handling in this situation also made us question whether Disciple would be the right long-term partner for our business. Partnership requires trust and practical judgement, especially when no meaningful delivery has taken place and a customer raises a concern almost immediately.&#10;&#10;The platform may be suitable for some businesses, but our experience with the sales, dashboard, and refund process was disappointing. Based on this, I would advise other businesses to check very carefully whether they already have overlapping app/community functionality in their existing tech stack before subscribing and to find some alternatives.

My favorite part of the platform is the ability to live stream directly from it without needing a third-party app, and I can also share my screen, presentation decks, and more\! I love that\! Additionally, I have a space in my app to upload my podcast without needing to link a URL, along with all my videos and courses. It definitely creates a real experience for our members that is unique to other platforms.

Customer support has been great. I love the ability to have a white labeled mobile app community that feels like an app native to our brand. The cost is also very affordable as compared to other platforms.

> **Inconvenienti**: There are definitely some areas that need to be improved. You aren't able to add events to outside calendars (such as google calendar), time zones don't sync with the user, there are limitations as to what you are able to add within the community and formatting.
