Il software, con il modulo di pianificazione, mi permette, tenendo conto delle risorse disponibili e delle scadenze, di strutturare piani di rilascio ottimizzati. Il foglio delle presenza, inoltre, si è rivelato ottimo per la gestione del numero di FTE impegni su un determinato progetto, in modo tale da fatturare correttamente al cliente il numero di risorse impiegate a giornata.

Aspetti positivi:

Oracle Primavera Cloud è un software, basato su moduli, ottimo per la gestione di un ampio portafoglio progetti. Il software è in grado di valutare le risorse disponibili e le loro capacità, al fine di suggerire in allocazione efficiente sui progetti gestiti. L’allocazione delle risorse varia, può essere ottimizzata, inoltre, anche in base alle scadenza o ad eventuali criticità emerse in corso di progetto. Oracle Primavera Cloud, infatti, è in grado di fornire evidenze in tempo reale sulla stato di un progetto evidenziando tempestivamente le criticità. Il software crea, inoltre degli ottimi Gantt che risultano facilmente condivisibili con terzi, al fine di esporre in modo chiaro la timeline di progetto ed i rilasci.

Aspetti negativi:

Ritengo che il software possa essere migliorato integrando una più ampia gamma di competenze delle risorse, al fine di migliorare i suggerimenti di allocazione.

Commenti: In qualità di di Quantitative Risk Analyst presso una società di energia utilizzo Oracle Primavera Cloud per gestire e monitorare i progetti di produzione e trasporto. Utilizzo il software prevalentemente per identificare identificare e valutare i rischi ad essi associati, come malfunzionamenti dei macchinari o mancati ricavi per fluttuazioni del prezzo dell’energia. Le funzionalità di risk management mi permetto di calcolare probabilità e impatto degli eventi avversi, ponendo in essere le opportune azioni di mitigazione. Mi occupo anche di minutate il rischio di assenza di risorse per un progetto, provvedo a redistribuire quelle aziendali disponibili, in modo tale che sia garantita l’esecuzione del progetto nei tempi previsti inizialmente.

Aspetti positivi:

Oracle Primavera Cloud è una software di project portfolio management che risulta utile nella gestione di progetti complessi e permette di ottimizzare l’allocazione delle risorse, garantisce una buon livello di misurazione delle performance dei progetti ed aumenta il livello di collaborazione dei team. Oracle Primavera Cloud, mediante il medito Critical Path, supporta la pianificazione e la programmazione di progetti aiutando gli utenti ad evidenziare attività critiche che è necessario completare per prime per garantire il successo del progetto stesso. Il software, inoltre, permette di avere una stima ed una valutazione dei rischi del progetti, consentendo al management di prendere decisioni informate. Un ulteriore punto di forza è la possibilità di gestire, in modo efficiente, le risorse disponibili in azienda allocandole in modo efficiente sui progetti, risorse sia umane che di capitali.

Aspetti negativi:

Oracle Primavera cloud non integra soluzioni di programmazioni CCPM, la programmazzione a catena critica oppur l’aggiornamento project management. Entrambi elementi necessari in un software della caratura di Oracle Primavera.

Commenti: It was my daily driver for years and despite the steep learning curve, it was an extremely capable tool.

Aspetti negativi:

- It shines for large and complex projects, for smaller and simpler schedules it tends to be more cumbersome. - It requires a very good understanding of how the software and CPM work when analysing results. Otherwise; mistakes can be done easily - While powerfull, the reporting feature of the Pro version (Standalone) looks antiquated in comparison to the EPPM cloud version. - The standalone version has not received any important feature updates for years. - Lacks the seamless integration with MS Office that MS Project has - Requires IT assistance to migrate the database from one computer to another

Commenti: I would say that it is less challenging to use primavera than Microsoft project.

It is best project management software, planning, scheduling, resource managing, controlling can be done for any project . Eventhough it is a complex analysis and process, It is not much difficult to use. Some advance features like top-down scheduling, longest path critical activity definition , activity steps and etc are now available . VBA is not required to separate and material cost.

In my experience, It would be slightly difficult to adopt for beginner.

The option to have multiple baselines is also useful to compare current schedule through different phases of the project.

Resources/progress graph and histograms are not as good as I am used to get from other application like Excel. Data export is not always as expected and some data manipulation is required in the other application (like Excel) to get the appropriate formats.

Tool of the Future

Commenti: The software described here is ORACLE PRIMAVERA CLOUD, which more than a tool, it is a platform that combines different tools for different needs, addressing different domains of Enterprise Project Portfolio management.
Even the shared video is describing the first implementation of this tool in Europe (lead by me and a colleague).
People commenting here are talking about Primavera P6 which is a tool dedicated mainly to schedule and resource management. Eventually Risk Management if combined with Primavera Risk Analysis (other tool).
In fact, the tool was called Oracle Prime until 2019 and this rebranding lead to an obvious confusion. The problem with this is that some remarks about the interface not having an appealing look and not being intuitive are for P6.

This product allows me to work with people who work in different segmentation in our industry seamlessly on each and every project. It's so easy.. its a no brainer really. Approval processes are easy, everything is simple. If there is ever any kind of issue it has been resolved with in moments of reaching out to tech support. I also was able to teach myself this program which is always a bonus.

Exporting software to other platforms is hard. for our all employee meetings it is difficult to show some processes and such with ease. A mobile platform would also be beneficial to our company

P6 does a great job in managing schedule for large programs and projects. P6 gets very powerful as you cost load your schedules and use data to construct reports and dashboards.

Aspetti negativi:

P6 can get pretty complicated with their functionalities. P6 can use a better printable report for schedules.

A One-Stop Shop in Project Management

Commenti: As stated above, this tool is great as project management software. The time tracking capability was so easy to implement and met our companies needs, that we used it throughout.

Aspetti positivi:

The software seems straight forward and easy to use. Our company used it across our whole organization for time tracking, as that was such a useful feature. There are many more components that can be used in various project collaboration, as well as customizations to the software that can be made through coding.

Aspetti negativi:

As far as using it as a time entry tool, the interface does seem a little overdone, more like a glorified spreadsheet. I sometimes get the feeling "what's all this?" when I just want to enter time.
