One of the biggest challenges has been the gap between what the system appears capable of doing and what can realistically be customized or supported without additional costs, lengthy timelines, or extensive troubleshooting. For example, when we needed specific reporting solutions to support compliance and workers’ compensation requirements, the available options were limited and the turnaround times did not always meet the urgency of payroll and compliance deadlines. That said, I do appreciate the breadth of services Paylocity provides and the potential the platform has when configured properly. It seems weird to say but there were almost too many options. The other thing was the start and and dates on the Human Resources side of Paylocity seems to confuse the users causing problems with hire date, benefit dates and transfer dates mid pay cycle. It seems that HR was alwas needing to correct dates. One other thing I didn't like is that pay dates were referred to as check dates.
