Avimark Covers It All!
Commenti: We're a 24/7 emergency and general practice facility and we use Avimark as our main software. We use it for scheduling, uploading patient labs, the worklist feature for team communications and tasks. We utilize the timeclock feature as well as the different reporting features as well.
Aspetti positivi:
Of every veterinary software I've ever used- Avimark is definitely the most user friendly and has the most features integrated directly into the software. Patient labs, timeclock, etc.
Aspetti negativi:
There isn't anything I don't like about this software. It covers every need that my hospital needs.

Good PIMS system foe veterinary office
Commenti: Use daily, very familiar with the features. Easy to upate client files and communication. Resembles doss programming, could make visually more appealing but does what it needs to do well

All my inventory, patient records, and staff login is easy to use and understand. Work communication is made easier with work lists. Integrates with idexx lab results
Aspetti negativi:
Can be slow, often when it updates we have issues with labs and error messages and have to call tech support for assistance
Very customizable and user friendly - once you get past the learning curve!
Commenti: Overall it’s excellent. There are sometimes bugs with it (like suddenly not finding any pet named Bella, so you have to rebuild indexes) but for the most part, it works great. It is usually speedy, and it can do some really neat, helpful things.

All the information you need is in front of you - client, pet, reminders. And it is easy to make it do some really cool things, such as packages, creative reminders, documents attached to treatments or diagnoses, etc.
Aspetti negativi:
We switched to this software from Cornerstone, and that was one of the most difficult times in memory. I am very good with software, and it took me three weeks to feel comfortable with it. Some less proficient folks complained for more than a year! Six years later, and I still occasionally find things it will do that I didn’t know about.
Software system that meets our needs
Commenti: We have only used Covetrus Avimark as our software system so I cannot compare it to any of the other systems. However, we are very pleased with the way Avimark has helped bring our practice into the 21st century in office efficiency. I only wish there were periodic email reminders, such as "Hey, have you tried this Hotkey/Shortcut idea?" I say this because I'm sure there are many additional helpful applications that we are not aware of nor even trying to use. This would be very helpful for not only any new clinics using Avimatk, but also, new hires having to learn the system already established.

Technical support is AMAZING! We are able to keep track of all clients and patients in an orderly manner.
Aspetti negativi:
Whenever we do an Avimark update, we have technical problems, our third parties have to update, and our IT person has to do a system reboot. It often times causes great problems, especially if it occurs over the weekend when no Avimark support is available for assistance.

The thing i loved about Avimark was how easy it was to navigate. You are able to do and send multiple things from one screen.

The thing i disliked the most about Avimark, was how many times the serve would go down and how slow the software became.

Avimark VS Web based software
Aspetti positivi:
Ease of use. Does not take multiple steps to accomplish one task. Running reports takes time, but easy to accomplish.
Aspetti negativi:
Lack of SMS integration, lack of ability to email from Avimark, directly. Lack of online bill pay

Commenti: We changed online pharmacies and found that Covetrus has a compounding side of the online pharmacy. We get alot of use out of this feature.
Aspetti positivi:
I love the online pharmacy and the fact that they try to match the prices of other online pharmacies. Its really easy to recommend a product to a client and they can then check out with said product.
Aspetti negativi:
I don't like how when clients can't remember their log on information we often find multiple client / pet information in the system. And it would be nice if it can be merged but we have to archive.

Basic and satisfactory vet software
Commenti: Overall this is a satisfactory product that does what I need it to do, albeit difficult to navigate in some areas.
Aspetti positivi:
The digital medical records and prescription management are the best features, while the integrated scheduling is easy to use and figure out.
Aspetti negativi:
Integrating lab work is a headache, and things like inventory and ordering compound medications are harder than they should be.

Still learning
Commenti: Overall, everyone here likes Avimark and when we hire new employees, they are frequently already familiar with this program since it is commonly used in other veterinary hospitals.

I came into the veterinary field just a few years ago which is when I was first introduced to Avimark. The hospital that hired me had always used this program. I found it easy to learn and easy to navigate. We are paperless and everything we need is in the patient's file...staff notes are critical. We scan in or download documents and are able to attach them with ease. The different file tabs and the search box make it easy to find what you need immediately.
Aspetti negativi:
Our version of Avimark is only happy merging Word documents (.docx). You cannot use any other program to create documents. Also, when we want to add a type of reminder (for a test or new vaccine), the Avimark tech support have to do it and it requires them to "re-build" the reminders. This brings in all the old reminder types that we no longer use and attaches them to every single patient in the system, which we then have to remove, individually. Very annoying!
Avimark
Commenti: Mostly positive. We've used Avimark since we first opened as a single DVM clinic in 1992. It's grown with us to now being a 6+ DVM practice that's very busy. I don't have experience with many other veterinary software systems but I do prefer it over the others I have seen and used.
Aspetti positivi:
Avimark has plenty of features for medical history and is pretty user friendly. Even new hires that never used any veterinary software before get the hang of it quickly. We love that we can now integrate payments using Vantiv, which has cut down on mistakes.
Aspetti negativi:
The reminder feature is a bit clunky. We've stopped using it in favor of PetDesk. Inability to email a rabies certificate from the patient chart is a pain. The worst thing though is now that we upgraded to the latest version, our system has slowed to a crawl and we've been told by Avimark support that they are still working on the issue. We're a busy multi DVM practice and waiting 120 seconds for a client's charges to post to their account is not helpful at all. I hope it will be fixed soon.
Solid system, but definitely a little behind in features
Commenti: As a mixed animal hospital, Avimark seems to be more superior for large animal use/features than competing systems. It also is a super easy to use system despite lacking in some truly beneficial features.

-Best system for equine/large animal practices. -Easy for employees to learn/use as system is fairly basic. -Tech support is fast and knowledgeable.
Aspetti negativi:
-One of the biggest ways we recognize clients are by their pets. Highly disappointing that the appointment calendar only displays Client name, patient name, abbreviation for species and reason for visit. It would be optimal for it to display the Breed as that allows the receptionist to quickly know who the client is who is checking in. -Measurements in inventory only go out 2 decimal points - needs to be greater. -Only allows for 2 price breaks in an inventory item - wished it allowed for more. -Estimate feature needs overhaul - confusing that it does not show/reflect range per line item. It only lumps a range total at bottom of estimate. Also, you cannot email estimates directly out of the system (like you can records). You have to save it to your computer and then email it out of your regular email system. -Does not have a prescription refill count down feature. -You can only book a patient reservation straight through one run/kennel in the system versus being able to maximize by taking advantage of space where another animal may be leaving or coming at a different time. -Some of the most common report searches a clinic would use to track compliance/performance are not prebuilt in the system. You have to have a custom search set up, which requires tech support nearly all the time because they are too complex to build on your own. -Despite same telephone and/or same address, does not always recognize a duplicate client.
Use of Rapport at BFVC
Commenti: Avimark Tech Support had been outstanding! Whenever we have an issue, the technicians are always ready to help.
Aspetti positivi:
The customer support was excellent in setting up Rapport in our practice. I appreciate the daily updates on reminders and know this will allow our staff to better utilize their time in office. It frees up staff time and encourages clients to reschedule and avoid no show fees.
Aspetti negativi:
We like all features and do not have any recommendations for improvement.

Good but can improve
Commenti: Overall experience is Love Hate. I appreciate the updates (though not automatic enough) but many of the CSRs need to communicate better or know "business" better. Overall grade would be B-/C+ but certain feature can get actually attain a solid A.
Aspetti positivi:
AVImark software has really thought about it all! So much is available amongst its many features. Integration with online pharmacies, credit card processing, credit providers (e.g., Care Credit et al) reminders, and some collection agencies (among just a few examples of many outside organization types) is excellent once correctly installed.
Aspetti negativi:
The software can certainly be improved. Start with design--forms from the 90s were good in the 90s but not today. There's nowhere to add additional notes with regard to client information, for example and pop up alerts show fine in one instance but not in others; no rhyme or reason. Verification from one screen to another isn't always thought through and getting features that easily exist in Cornerstone, for example, just aren't available in AVImark (or not without extras or add-ins). Reports might be built well for IT administrators but should be better for financial analyses. Searches are simply too complex for the technology that exists today, filtering should be possible within the system but it is sorely lacking (not many or none). Support, for the money is still too spastic where one great CSR at one time is missing the next time. Technology support (of the system vs of the many features) is great but it's not always immediately available and you have to have a "ticket" created. Good luck with that, because you're not always available when they're ready to return the call.
Avimark from a bookkeeping point of view
Commenti: We have been operating with the system since 2006 and have never regretted the decision. We have added many software partners such as Rapport which has saved our staff so much time in reminders and follow ups as well as upgrading our communications. We are only limited by our own time and availability to use what is already available within the software.
Aspetti positivi:
The reporting capabilities of Avimark are endless. If there is a report your require it can be developed in the search fields. The standard reports are very adequate for reporting daily sales, doctor's revenue reporting, as well as tracking your revenue streams. Year end reports for inventory and annual sales are easily produced. The accounts receivables are always current and produce billing within the software. The capabilities of the software are actually only limited by the curiosity and capabilities of the people using it.
Aspetti negativi:
One of the features that is lacking or does not integrate well in Canada is the point of purchase providers. Due to the fact it is an American product the reporting and reconciliation experience I had when using their integrated POP was not successful. There are so many options for how you can use the medical condition but it has unlimited potential if the doctors have the time to set it up. It does take time to input but having said that once it is set up it is a huge time saver and it allows you to put in your preferred set of protocols.

Commenti: I was able to use Avimark the first week I was here, and I learn new features just about every week. I like the ease of use, the ease of learning new features, etc.
Aspetti positivi:
Ease of scheduling, changing appointments, updating patient and client demographics, adding patient and client information. The integration of payment information is also very helpful - this reduces keying errors when payments have to be input manually.
Aspetti negativi:
I did not find the Rapport integration helpful, and I would like to have more training on the inventory functions.
Endless Possibilities and Functions
Commenti: We have used Avimark for 15 years and it has grown to fit the needs of our growing practice. Technical support has helped us through glitches as we grew. I’ve used other softwares and will not change from Avimark.
Aspetti positivi:
The possibilities of how to use Avimark are endless. It is very intuitive to use. Most new users are using the program with ease within the same day. It is very reasonable in cost and has no limit to the number of users.
Aspetti negativi:
Unfortunately this software is not yet compatible with tablets and cannot be used in a wireless environment.

It is a great software that we've been using for over 20 years. I'm getting too old to learn anything new. I know we don't utilize all that's available through the program, but, for what we need, it does a great job!
Aspetti negativi:
Our DVM's write tickets throughout the month, and sometimes it's 2 weeks down the road. If other things have been entered on a client, especially payments, and we try to go back and enter a ticket and post it for date of service, SOMETIMES it jacks with our totals due, so we have to take everything out that we've entered for the month on that client, and re-enter it in date order, then it'll work.

Commenti: Avimark works well for what we use it for, but there isn't much flexibility or adaption with it.

For an ER that uses Avimark mostly for charges and basic patient info, it works very well for us. I do feel like learning to do anything different or more advanced is very hard but the customer support is excellent. I also like how simple the billing/invoicing is.
Aspetti negativi:
Inventory management. It is very complex and not user friendly. I have been learning for the last 6 months to better understand it and I feel like I am barely scratching the surface. It also does not link with other programs, like smart flow, well.

Helpful product but outdated in some aspects
Aspetti positivi:
Easy to schedule appointments and search in the medical history. Tabs are helpful to break down RX, labs, chorological history. You can adjust things fairly easily with help from the support line. They are always very friendly!
Aspetti negativi:
Some features are outdated, and updates are a nightmare and can shut the hospital down if it takes to long.

I have used this software since it first came to market. The evolution that it has gone through in response to the veterinary industry is on point for helping us care for our patients and clients. From keeping reminders straight, to booking appointments, to doing mass emails, to follow up calls and using it to track staff hours it has helped keep us organized. The areas this software help us in are too many to mention here. The support service is second to none...all issues are resolved with a quick phone call. I couldn't imagine running my three practices with any other software.
Aspetti negativi:
When we do mass emails we can often not send the entire number. This may be due to our internet as well. I wish there was more options for emails...insert photos, different fonts. Would love to do this as an newsletter but are limited now.
