It is handy and easy to work with. Furthermore, its features allow for wider scope of modeling.

Aspetti positivi:

Very clear structure for DES, good training materials (slides/example models) potential dedicated supports. The ease of use of this software and it allowed me to make a beautiful agent based simulation with a beautiful and easy to understand graphical interface. I loved the functionality you get for a free software and it had everything I needed to make a successful model. In addition to this, the software have a better advantage over the other software due to it has ease accessible manuals and books.

Aspetti negativi:

However, renaming the 'boxes' can be quite a pain - you got to make sure that you select the right region. The software was also was very unintuitive and confusing. It can be a bit hard to use. Especially if you are not tech savy.

Versatile Simulation Power A good help for thesis

One of he features of AnyLogic is its versatility. allowing me to tackle and try a wide range of complex problems with a single tool. This flexibility empowers to explore various modelling approaches and combine them as needed to accurately represent real-world systems. And the help that I got throughout the whole process from the AnyLogic team.

Aspetti negativi:

One downside I found with AnyLogic is its initial learning curve. Since it's a powerful simulation tool , mastering its intricacies can take some time and dedication.

Commenti: Using AnyLogic science version 5.5. Providing classes for students, and also using in research projects.

- flexibility (use of Java), provides a great opportunity to develop very complex models - huge amount of features to conduct different types of experiments - huge amount of samples + detailed tutorials - ability to mix in one model different simulation approaches

- very slow, probably because of the user interface - not very user-friendly in terms of writing the code, autocompletion etc - 2D/3D object library could be more wider, also would be great to have a tool to create own 3D objects

It is so user-friendly and easy to work with.

Using the Java makes it a little hard to understand. One good thing is to have a specific and seperated shell for coding.

Commenti: The possibility of combining the three main methods for modelling systems. The customer service, the way AnyLogic forces you to go trough various calls just to get a price for the license is horrendous. Just for that, I would be willing to recommend the software, please modofy your sales plan.

Great software for students doing discrete event simulations or agent based modelling

Aspetti positivi:

Great for visually appealing discrete event simulations, and agent modelling. The user interface very explanatory, thats a bonus. There's also a free version which is very impressive considering the capabilities.

Aspetti negativi:

I've been using it for less than six months but it is quite vast in its functionality, and while the user interface is simple to understand, it can be quite daunting when you initially begin to use it. Plus, I did a lot of work with python and I'm not entirely sure how robust interfacing with python would be.

Great for Discrete Event Simulation

Commenti: Overall, I managed to setup a variety of simulations for manufacturing and healthcare which was pretty pleasant to use and to perform my analysis.

Navigable and Comprehensive Tool!

Simulation tools are always a learning curve, however, it was a relatively easy tool to learn with many informative tutorial videos. These simulations were completely applicable to any real-life scenario.

I wouldn't necessarily say this is a bad thing, but there were definitely many components to the software that could make it confusing. However, this was a learning tool that I utilized in university, so there a lot of points I did not know :)

The user interface and the java code are a nightmare to work on. For a programer who works in Java it's no problem, but for a beginner it's unusable and plus, there is no tutorial for what codes you have to use.And plus, generating charts is difficult
